Taxs found so far in the 1900+ page democrat "heath care" bill

If you thought Health Care was expensive now, just wait until it is "free."
Here is a list of the new taxes you will be paying found so far:

Employer Mandate Excise Tax (Page 275): If an employer does not pay 72.5 percent of a single employee’s health premium (65 percent of a family employee), the employer must pay an excise tax equal to 8 percent of average wages. Small employers (measured by payroll size) have smaller payroll tax rates of 0 percent (<$500,000), 2 percent ($500,000-$585,000), 4 percent ($585,000-$670,000), and 6 percent ($670,000-$750,000).

Individual Mandate Surtax (Page 296): If an individual fails to obtain qualifying coverage, he must pay an income surtax equal to the lesser of 2.5 percent of modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) or the average premium. MAGI adds back in the foreign earned income exclusion and municipal bond interest.

Medicine Cabinet Tax (Page 324): Non-prescription medications would no longer be able to be purchased from health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), or health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs). Insulin excepted.

Cap on FSAs (Page 325): FSAs would face an annual cap of $2500 (currently uncapped).

Increased Additional Tax on Non-Qualified HSA Distributions (Page 326): Non-qualified distributions from HSAs would face an additional tax of 20 percent (current law is 10 percent). This disadvantages HSAs relative to other tax-free accounts (e.g. IRAs, 401(k)s, 529 plans, etc.)

Denial of Tax Deduction for Employer Health Plans Coordinating with Medicare Part D (Page 327): This would further erode private sector participation in delivery of Medicare services.

Surtax on Individuals and Small Businesses (Page 336): Imposes an income surtax of 5.4 percent on MAGI over $500,000 ($1 million married filing jointly). MAGI adds back in the itemized deduction for margin loan interest. This would raise the top marginal tax rate in 2011 from 39.6 percent under current law to 45 percent—a new effective top rate.

Excise Tax on Medical Devices (Page 339): Imposes a new excise tax on medical device manufacturers equal to 2.5 percent of the wholesale price. It excludes retail sales and unspecified medical devices sold to the general public.

Corporate 1099-MISC Information Reporting (Page 344): Requires that 1099-MISC forms be issued to corporations as well as persons for trade or business payments. Current law limits to just persons for small business compliance complexity reasons. Also expands reporting to exchanges of property.

Delay in Worldwide Allocation of Interest (Page 345): Delays for nine years the worldwide allocation of interest, a corporate tax relief provision from the American Jobs Creation Act

Limitation on Tax Treaty Benefits for Certain Payments (Page 346): Increases taxes on U.S. employers with overseas operations looking to avoid double taxation of earnings.

Codification of the “Economic Substance Doctrine” (Page 349): Empowers the IRS to disallow a perfectly legal tax deduction or other tax relief merely because the IRS deems that the motive of the taxpayer was not primarily business-related.

Application of “More Likely Than Not” Rule (Page 357): Publicly-traded partnerships and corporations with annual gross receipts in excess of $100 million have raised standards on penalties. If there is a tax underpayment by these taxpayers, they must be able to prove that the estimated tax paid would have more likely than not been sufficient to cover final tax liability.

Cap and Tax

Our Dear Leader's so-called "Cap and Trade" program is really a "Cap and Tax" program that is going to suck more money from the paychecks of every American.

This energy tax is going to hit the poorest the hardest, since they pay the largest percentage of their income on energy costs (electricity, heating and transportation).

White House sources have admitted that this will be an average increase of $1,800 per family!

President Obama’s energy tax plan -- a version of the failed European “cap and trade” global warming fiasco -- may cost families $1,800 yearly in higher utility bills, far exceeding his promised $800 a year tax cut for 95% of Americans.

While campaigning, Obama admitted that his energy plan would cause electric bills to “skyrocket.” President Obama’s energy tax plan -- a version of the failed European “cap and trade” global warming fiasco -- may cost families $1,800 yearly in higher utility bills, far exceeding his promised $800 a year tax cut for 95% of Americans.

So when Candidate Obama said that Americans making less than $250,000 a year would not see any new taxes, he was lying! Get used to it folks. It's a long way until January 20, 2013.

Obama's massive middle class tax hike

Our Dear Leader is planning “the largest middle-class tax increase in history.”
This is a plan to tax medical benefits. As part of our Dear Leader's plan to socialize the medical industry here in the United States. Step one: fleece those with medical insurance to raise money to screw them.

The hypocrisy is pretty thick:

In television advertisements last fall, Mr. Obama criticized his Republican rival for the presidency, Senator John McCain of Arizona, for proposing to tax all employer-provided health benefits. The benefits have long been tax-free, regardless of how generous they are or how much an employee earns. The advertisements did not point out that Mr. McCain, in exchange, wanted to give all families a tax credit to subsidize the purchase of coverage.

The shifting perception of Obama

Tapscott nails it in his DC Examiner column:

Now, though, the mask is off and the disconnect between rhetoric and reality is emerging as the dominant driver of the Obama narrative. The contrast is no longer between the young, personable, historic candidate Obama and a creaky, cranky old Republican White Guy, it's between what America thought it was getting in a President Obama (cool, reasonable and beyond partisanship) and what it now sees as the reality of a President Obama (government spending out of control, an uncertain hand on foreign policy, broken promises, more bureaucrats, etc. etc.).

Put another way - what we see now is neither what we were promised, nor what we expected.

That's the money quote. There is a lot of detail to back it up.

Perhaps more people should have listened to our Dear Leader's former Spiritual Adviser when he pointed out, "Barack's name ain't Jesus. Barack ain't gonna improve your child's reading score. There are things we've got to do on our own."

Lies of the Obama cabal

Two big ones in a row.

First from the gaffmeister himself, Joe Biden. You can almost forgive him, because he has a long history of just saying wacky shit, but he is an official spokesman of our Dear Leader, so BHO should be keeping a leash on him.

Biden falsely claimed that Louisiana is loosing jobs a rate of 400 per day
. Of course, the actual truth is the opposite of what came out of Joe Biden's mouth. Louisiana is adding jobs, i.e. the unemployment rate is falling. Don't expect MSNBC (i.e. the "Obama network") to point out this obvious error of the Obama administration.

The next big lie came from our Dear Leader personally. BHO claims that he can jack the taxes of "wealthiest 2% of Americans" to pay for his massive socialist government spending. The Wall Street Journal points out that the numbers just don't add up.

Consider the IRS data for 2006, the most recent year that such tax data are available and a good year for the economy and "the wealthiest 2%." Roughly 3.8 million filers had adjusted gross incomes above $200,000 in 2006. (That's about 7% of all returns; the data aren't broken down at the $250,000 point.) These people paid about $522 billion in income taxes, or roughly 62% of all federal individual income receipts. The richest 1% -- about 1.65 million filers making above $388,806 -- paid some $408 billion, or 39.9% of all income tax revenues, while earning about 22% of all reported U.S. income.

Note that federal income taxes are already "progressive" with a 35% top marginal rate, and that Mr. Obama is (so far) proposing to raise it only to 39.6%, plus another two percentage points in hidden deduction phase-outs. He'd also raise capital gains and dividend rates, but those both yield far less revenue than the income tax. These combined increases won't come close to raising the hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue that Mr. Obama is going to need.
...
The bottom line is that Mr. Obama is selling the country on a 2% illusion. Unwinding the U.S. commitment in Iraq and allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire can't possibly pay for his agenda. Taxes on the not-so-rich will need to rise as well.

On that point, by the way, it's unclear why Mr. Obama thinks his climate-change scheme won't hit all Americans with higher taxes. Selling the right to emit greenhouse gases amounts to a steep new tax on most types of energy and, therefore, on all Americans who use energy.

The numbers just don't add up, and I'm betting that Team BHO knows it. They are just hoping that most Americans won't do the math until it is too late.

The left is fanning the fires of racism

...even if they have to lie to do it.
Case in point, the HuffPo using a doctored video to accuse Fox News of racism.

Johnny Dollar points out the actual truth:

There's only one problem with all this: the video posted by HuffPo is a fake. The three words allegedly spoken by Gibson, "bright blue scrotum", are actually in Trace Gallagher's voice. Those words were lifted from a few moments earlier and pasted over Gibson's actual sentence: "We were talking about Eric Holder today on the radio and his comment that this is a nation of cowards." But don't take our word for it. See, and hear, for yourself:

This raises the question, Why can't the left make their arguments with the truth?

Why are leftists so eager to raise the specter of racism?

Perhaps it is because they plan on using it to attack their foes regardless of factual arguments opponents of socialism.

Update: Huffpo has posted a retraction, admitting the video they quoted was a fake.

An important fact about the dems "stimulus" bill

Harvard economics professor Greg Mankiw points out that over half the spending provided (59%) by the stimulus bill occurs after 2010! Only 8% occurs in 2009 and 33% in 2010.

Senator Chuck Schumer (democrat-HCI) was on FNS stating that government spending put much needed cash into the economy faster than tax cuts. Not if the government hangs onto most of the money for two years! A tax cut would put money into taxpayers hands this year!

The truth of the matter is that the democrats are using the current fiscal crisis (thank you Barney Frank and Chris Dodd) not to address the problem, but to shove through their agenda and private pork projects at the expense of the American people.

Colmes is either ignorant or lying

Watch the first video at this NewsBusters article.

During this video, liberal talking head Alan Colmes says that nobody knew about the New Orleans levies. That is a big fat lie. The state of the levies were well known and every attempt by the US Army Corps of Engineers to repair them was met with a fistful of lawsuits from various left of center groups including the Sierra Club.

Good News from Minnesota

The Minnesota Canvassing Board has certified the election results and declared Norm Coleman the winner.

Al Franken refuses to live in the reality of rational, thinking adults, and is trying to hold up the democratic process so a few hundred more votes can be generated out of thin air.

A successful campaign of fear

The democrats have done something they are very good at. Vicious attack smear campaigns. In this case, they have managed to successfully smear the most popular governor in America, with a strong history of executive experience, fighting corruption and implementing actual real change, as a scary, inexperienced and unintelligent danger.

When you compare resumes, the bottom of the Republican ticket, Gov. Sarah Palin beats the top of the democrat ticket across the board.

Gov. Palin has a strong history of success in government, while Barak Hussein Obama has a history of voting present while representing a district with out of control crime and corruption.

Good job with spreading fear and hate democrats. Thanks for giving us a preview of the strong points of an Obama administration.

Obama fails math

Even the "in the tank" AP is pointing out the obvious, Obama's numbers don't add up.

Obama's assertion that "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond" the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by "eliminating programs that don't work" masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are—beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
...
THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by $2,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of $2,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it's not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums.
...
THE FACTS: His proposals—the tax cuts, the low-cost loans, the $15 billion a year he promises for alternative energy, and more—cost money, and the country could be facing a record $1 trillion deficit next year. Indeed, Obama recently acknowledged—although not in his commercial—that: "The next president will have to scale back his agenda and some of his proposals."

Obama embraces the Big Lie

Senator McCain quoted verifiable facts and Barak H. Obama denied them, bold faced lying to the American people.

Ed Morrissey has details:

MCCAIN: Well, again, while you were on the board of the Woods Foundation, you and Mr. Ayers, together, you sent $230,000 to ACORN. So — and you launched your political campaign in Mr. Ayers’ living room.

OBAMA: That’s absolutely not true.

MCCAIN: And the facts are facts and records are records.

OBAMA: And that’s not the facts.

Unfortunately for Obama, those are the facts, both about Ayers and ACORN. Obama paid ACORN over $800,000 this summer for GOTV efforts, which Obama now denies, although he did finally admit that he represented ACORN as an attorney in a lending-practices case. Obama did launch his career at a party hosted by Ayers, which is such a matter of public record that I’m frankly surprised he bothered to deny it.

That is verifiable lie number one by Obama.

#2 was on the abortion issue.

Why is Barak Obama trying to hide his past? What is he afraid of the American people finding?

Update: Cold Fury has the facts on Obama's abortion votes that he lied to the American people about.

Barak has a bracelet too!

Barak H. Obama's "me too" moment was one of the low points of the debate.

The fact that he had to look at the bracelet to remember the name of the solider he was supposed to be honoring.

The family of Sgt. Ryan Jopek has their own story to tell.

Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son's name on it. Yet Obama continues to do so despite the wishes of the family.

Radio host Glenn Moberg of the show "Route 51" asked Mr. Jopek, a man who believes in the efforts in Iraq and is not in favor of Obama's positions on the war, what he and his ex-wife think of Obama continually using their son's name on the campaign trail.

Jopek began by saying that his ex-wife was taken aback, even upset, that Obama has made the death of her son a campaign issue. Jopek says his wife gave Obama the bracelet because "she just wanted Mr. Obama to know Ryan's name." Jopek went on to say that "she wasn't looking to turn it into a big media event" and "just wanted it to be something between Barack Obama and herself." Apparently, they were all shocked it became such a big deal.

But, he also said that his ex-wife has refused further interviews on the matter and that she wanted Obama to stop wearing the reminder of her son's sacrifice that he keeps turning into a campaign soundbyte. This begins at about 10 minutes into the radio program.

The lesson here is that Barak Obama views the members of the American Military as simple political prop. They have no other value to him.

This is just another lie the Obama campaign is trying to get the American public to swallow.

Update: It looks like the parents of Sgt. Jopek are in disagreement over Obama's use of the bracelet in his campaign rhetoric. Sgt. Jopek's father has one view and his ex-wife has another.
Hot Air points out:
She asked Obama to stop talking about the bracelet out of respect for the feelings of other Gold Star families who still support the war. She was afraid the issue would get exploited by anti-war groups, and apparently she doesn’t want to become the next Cindy Sheehan. Ryan’s father Brian may feel differently about his son’s sacrifice (Brian is currently stationed in Guantanamo Bay), but Brian Jopek didn’t give Obama the bracelet.
...
We can criticize Obama for his delivery and for forgetting Jopek’s name in that moment of the debate, but Obama didn’t disrespect Tracy Jopek’s wishes.

Vicious anti-Sarah Palin smear campaign may have strong ties to the Obama Campaign

JawaReport has been doing something MSNBC or CNN won't do, actual investigative reporting about Barak Obama and his campaign. It is an ugly story that the worshipers of the "Lightgiver" don't want to face.

Our research suggests that a subdivision of one of the largest public relations firms in the world most likely started and promulgated rumors about Sarah Palin that were known to be false. These rumors were spread in a surreptitious manner to avoid exposure.

It is also likely that the PR firm was paid by outside sources to run the smear campaign. While not conclusive, evidence suggests a link to the Barack Obama campaign. Namely:

- Evidence suggests that a YouTube video with false claims about Palin was uploaded and promoted by members of a professional PR firm.

- The family that runs the PR firm has extensive ties to the Democratic Party, the netroots, and are staunch Obama supporters.

- Evidence suggests that the firm engaged in a concerted effort to distribute the video in such a way that it would appear to have gone viral on its own. Yet this effort took place on company time.
Evidence suggests that these distribution efforts included actions by at least one employee of the firm who is unconnected with the family running the company.

-The voice-over artist used in this supposedly amateur video is a professional.

-This same voice-over artist has worked extensively with David Axelrod's firm, which has a history of engaging in phony grassroots efforts, otherwise known as "astroturfing."

-David Axelrod is Barack Obama's chief media strategist.

-The same voice-over artist has worked directly for the Barack Obama campaign.

There is a lot more, including possible FEC violations, and pushing the anti-Sarah Palin smear video they produced to far left extremist web sites that would spread it even if they knew it was a pack of lies.

Like so much far left extremists astroturf, if you follow the money, it leads back to George Soros. Expect the far left extremist 527s to start spreading even more lies about Senator McCain and Gov. Palin.

The Obama campaign appears to be organizing a coordinated smear campaign of epic proportions.
The Palin smear video analyzed here fits in nicely with the post-Palin pick narrative being offered by the Obama campaign. That narrative is that John McCain may not fill out his term in office. The narrative is bolstered by questions about McCain's age, the present status of the skin cancer he once had, and by demands that his medical records be released.

The second ingredient in the narrative paints Sarah Palin -- who would take McCain's vacated Presidential office -- as not ready for the job. Obama's campaign has called her experience & intelligence into question, but there is also a "grassroots" viral campaign of deception that claims Palin is on the political fringe and is a religious lunatic.

Just in the past week, since we first began following the astroturfing of Sarah Palin, rumors have circulated that Palin was a member of the John Birch Society and that she hates rape victims. Bored with the spreading the lie that Palin thinks the Earth is 6,000 years old and that she banned books, this week the netroots are claiming that she supports witch hunts. Not metaphorical witch hunts, actual witch hunts.

Clearly, the truth doesn't matter to these Obama supporters. They are engaging in the lowest forms of fear mongering.

It does look like the Jawa Report has uncovered some ugly truth about the far left extremists in the Obama Campaign. A sure sign is that the coverup has begun.
UPDATE: Within an hour of this post going up, YouTube videos implicating Ethan Winner were yanked, sockpuppet accounts deleted, and more importantly, the Wikipedia entry on David Axelrod began to edit out mentions of his well know astroturfing campaigns. Hmmm, it sounds to me like we're on to something.

Take the time to read the whole thing.

Obama doesn't let the truth get in his way

According to factcheck.org, Community Organizer Barak H. Obama is flat out lying about Senator John McCain's Social Security plan.

Just another example of what American can expect from an Obama administration.

It's official - Obama is spinning like a top

By way of Hot Air is this study on spin in the campaign.

Skillicorn has been watching out for verbal “spin”. He has developed an algorithm that evaluates word usage within the text of a conversation or speech to determine when a person “presents themselves or their content in a way that does not necessarily reflect what they know to be true”…

Each of the candidates had made speeches containing very high and very low levels of spin, according to Skillicorn’s program, depending on the occasion. In general though, Obama’s speeches contain considerably higher spin than either McCain or Clinton. For example, for their speeches accepting their party’s nomination for president, Obama’s speech scored a spin value of 6.7 - where 0 is the average level of spin within all the political speeches analysed, and positive values represent higher spin. In contrast, McCain’s speech scored -7.58, while Hillary Clinton’s speech at the Democratic National Convention scored 0.15. Skillicorn also found that Sarah Palin’s speeches contain slightly more spin than average…

Obama’s spin level skyrockets when facing problems in the press, such as when Jeremiah Wright, the reverend of his former church, made controversial comments to the press.

“When you see these crises come along, the spin goes up,” Skillicorn says. “Obama is very good at using stirring rhetoric to deal with the issues. And it seems to work if you look at what happens in the polls afterwards.”

Of course Obama has to spin and spin hard. If he told the truth, he wouldn't get elected.

Obama says something dumb, then calls his opponents ignorant.

Barak H. Obama did a fairly typical thing for him, he said something that the DNC/MSM would have been all over Dan Quayle for.

In this case he claimed that properly inflating car tires would save as much oil as domestic oil drilling. A claim that is monumentally wrong. Of course he's getting mocked for it. It was wrong and showed a dangerous ignorance in someone who is claiming to be able to solve America's energy policy.

Now Barak H. Obama is engaging in typical democrat behavior, he is lying about what he said. He is now claiming that properly inflating car tires will save 2-3% in fuel costs. That statement is accurate. It is not what he first claimed.

To make it worse, Obama is claiming that his opponents are "ignorant" for mocking his original statement, which was flat out wrong and painfully ignorant.

Sadly this is typical behavior for the Obamessiah. He refuses to admit any possible fallacy or mistake in his doctrine.

Obama also refuses to admit that energy policy is complex and requires multiple solutions, including domestic drilling, Clean Safe Nuclear Power, Wind, Solar, Conservation and other alternate sources.

Barak Obama and the rest of the far left extremist democrats refuse to consider domestic drilling and Nuclear Power. They would rather see the American economy tank.
