HRC's "Daisy" ad

What makes this even more pathetic is that, while she may be more "hawkish" than Obama, the military as whole returns the loathing she feels toward it and in the general election, this ad is reason to vote for McCain over either HRC or Obama.

I didn't know Obama was French...

Actually, the current French President has a bigger pair than Barak Obama shows in his his cheese eating surrender monkey video. The democrats are going to have to repeat their performance of suppressing overseas military votes, because this video will pretty much deliver that voting block to Senator McCain.

Poor Hillary

I can feel her pain, really. Compared to Barak Obama, the Marxist in a pantsuit really is more experienced and is actually more conservative than the second coming of Jimmy "double digit inflation and unemployment" Carter.

She's worked hard for the past thirtyfive years for this job. Defending police murdering Black Panthers, sitting on the board of directors of the biggest polluter in the state her husband was governor of, organizing attacks on the women her husband sexually harassed and assaulted, withholding legal documents under subpoena, taking bribes from hostile foreign powers... The woman has worked hard to get where she could run for President of the United States.

Now she is getting her large ass kicked by some kid who was a state senator from a flyover state a couple of years ago with no experience and stated policies that are even more Marxist than hers!

What is worse is her greatest skill, the politics of personal destruction, just don't work on Obama. His supporters just don't care that he has no real experience, and his warmed over Jimmy Carter policies will drive the nation's economy into the crapper. Anytime she points out any of his faults, real or imagined, it just drives her negatives higher (and many pundits thought those were at the saturation point). To make it worse, her former lapdogs, the so-called "main stream media" have cast her aside and are clearly in the tank for Obama.

While I feel Hillary's pain, I can help at feeling some joy at watching her go down in flames as her "inevitability" campaign plan sinks after hitting the iceberg of that empty suit that has stolen away her far left extremist Hollywood supporters.

The only downside is that Barak Obama's policies are really and truly a nightmare waiting to happen to America.

Leftist Terrorists in America

No surprise that they are in California and are anti-Science.
The LA Times reports:

Authorities are investigating a fire caused by a device left today at a house owned by a UCLA professor who conducts animal research — the second time the house has been targeted in less than four months.

The device was placed this morning on the front porch of a Westside house owned by Edythe London, FBI officials in Los Angeles said.

London, a professor of psychiatry and bio-behavioral sciences and of molecular and medical pharmacology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, uses lab monkeys in her research on nicotine addiction.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller confirmed that officials with the Joint Terrorism Task Force were investigating the incident. “It was ignited and caused damage to the property,” Eimiller said. “No one was home at the time and nobody was hurt.” Eimiller said no one had claimed responsibility. But the agency is investigating the claim that the Animal Liberation Front used a garden hose to flood London’s house Oct. 20 in an attempt to stop her animal experiments.

That's gonna leave a mark...

Hawkish Liberal Andrew Sullivan points out an ugly truth about Hillary Rodham Clinton

"Clinton is a terrible manager of people. Coming into a campaign she had been planning for, what, two decades, she was so not ready on Day One, or even Day 300. Her White House, if we can glean anything from the campaign, would be a secretive nest of well-fed yes-people, an uncontrollable egomaniac spouse able and willing to bigfoot anyone if he wants to, a phalanx of flunkies who cannot tell the boss when things are wrong, and a drizzle of dreary hacks like Mark Penn."

That is a really telling blow against HRC, who's been constantly pushing the obviously false message that she would be the one ready "Day One" if elected to the the office of President. That bubble, along with her "inevitability" has been popped.

Nader's back

Ralph Nader is on Meet the Press today and announced that he is running for President again.

He is spouting the full court press of far hard left extremist rants. I didn't watch all his pitch, but I was expecting him to start on the Troofer nonsense at any point.

I don't think he can make much of an effect this year. Most of the extreme far left is firmly in Barak Obama's camp. Remember the flags with that murdering communist thug Che in the Houston Obama office?

He many draw off some Obama supporters, but not enough to help HRC at this point.

A couple of comments on Casto

Erick at RedState had this to say on the murdering communist dictator:

The media, always willing to prop up a communist dictator, loves to talk about Castro’s survival. Next to Saddam Hussein’s electoral victories, it is one of the most fawning statements the media gives out to anyone.

Castro survived Eisenhower. Castro survived Kennedy. He survived Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, and Clinton.

He won’t survive George W. Bush. For all you media types stopping by, let me repeat that so you can cry a little longer — Fidel Castro will not survive the reign of George W. Bush.

It is also interesting to note that there is one American politician who has had a longer run than Castro. That Klan Grand Kleegle and champion of Jim Crow democrats, Robert Byrd, king of pork barrel spending.

Quote of the Day

Mary Katharine Ham said:

I think Clinton’s likely to get thrown under the bus by those superdelegates she’s counting on, but does anyone think she’s gonna go under without clawing the tires all to hell? Fun times.

I posted that to a mailing list I'm on and followed it up with:
Was that last part of the debate Hillary Rodham Clinton throwing in the towel or a bit of misdirection before she starts going after the super delegates, the pledged delegates, and anything else that might vote her way?

Or perhaps she is going to withdraw before she loses another four states in a row. The convention isn't until August. Plenty of time leak all that material the PIs gathered to the press. Let McCain take the blame for that, and when Obama arrives at the convention weakened by scandal after scandal, HRC can appear as the savior of the party.

That would make good political theater.

This story from RedState makes it look like we could be for some good political theater as HRC proceeds to start "clawing the tires all to hell"
What is important is that the Democrats' internecine warfare is continuing apace and that there will likely not be a withdrawal from the campaign by the Clinton people unless Ohio and Texas turn out to be disasters for her. And even if they do turn out that way, those who saw a TV clip of Hillary Clinton heatedly denouncing Barack Obama might be forgiven for thinking that she might stay in no matter what to sabotage and undermine a candidate she plainly has contempt for and believes to be beneath her.

The reality behind the Cult of Algore...

Those stubborn facts just keep getting in the way of the Cult of Algore!

The drop from January 2007 to January 2008 "appears to be the largest single year to year January drop for the entire GISS data set."

More from The Weekly Standard and the CBC:
Satellite images are showing that the cold spell is helping the sea ice expand in coverage by about 2 million square kilometres, compared to the average winter coverage in the previous three years.

"It's nice to know that the ice is recovering," Josefino Comiso, a senior research scientist with the Cryospheric Sciences Branch of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre in Maryland, told CBC News on Thursday.

"That means that maybe the perennial ice would not go down as low as last year."
...
The cold is also making the ice thicker in some areas, compared to recorded thicknesses last year, Lagnis added.

"The ice is about 10 to 20 centimetres thicker than last year, so that's a significant increase," he said.

You won't be seeing this data on the MSM/DNC. As Michael Goldfarb points out, "I'm starting to think that the left only pays attention to the Arctic in the summer--when it's supposed to melt."

That's gonna leave a mark...

Obama just defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton once again, this time in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin was seen as a "must win", and win big, state for the once "Inevitable" candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Losing will just make her attempts to win by way of the so-called "super delegates" even more pathetic and desperate than they are ready are.

Just remember, that Barak Obama is not good news for America either. He just doesn't bring that 30+ years of the Culture of Corruption and the Politics of Personal Destruction baggage along that the Clintons do. Oh, and that whole illegal campaign contributions from the Communist Chinese government thing too.

UPDATE
: Obama won Hawaii by a landslide. That makes 10 wins in row. Hillary Rodham Clinton is taking the Sore Loserman road by refusing to concede any of the states she lost or to congradulate Senator Obama on his wins.
I'm guessing her staffers are getting really good at dodging thrown lamps.

GW Bush more popular than Clinton

...in Africa. According to this Reuters article:

Banners across the route, decorated with Bush's image against a backdrop of Tanzania's Mt. Kilimanjaro, read: "We cherish democracy. Karibu (welcome) to President and Mrs Bush."

Others read: "Thank you for helping fight malaria and HIV." Dancers at the airport and at Kikwete's state house to greet Bush on Sunday, wore skirts and shirts decorated with his face.

Bush has spent more money on aid to Africa than his predecessor, Bill Clinton, and is popular for his personal programs to fight AIDS and malaria and to help hospitals and schools.

Bush has stressed new-style partnerships with Africa based on trade and investment and not purely on aid handouts.

BJ Clinton traveled to Africa to play the bongos and sample the local girls. Hillary used to take Chelsea there tax payer funded vacations and photo ops.

George W. Bush actually does good for the people of Africa, which is more than most of their own governments (and the United Nations) does.

One liberal democrat's plan for America

By way of Michelle Malkin, is former Colorado governor and democrat, Richard Lamm's plan for America:

I have a plan to destroy America
by Richard D. Lamm

I have a secret plan to destroy America. If you believe, as many do, that America is too smug, too white bread, too self-satisfied, too rich, let’s destroy America. It is not that hard to do. History shows that nations are more fragile than their citizens think. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and they all fall, and that “an autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.” Here is my plan:

1. We must first make America a bilingual-bicultural country. History shows, in my opinion, that no nation can survive the tension, conflict and antagonism of two competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. One scholar, Seymour Martin Lipset, put it this way: “The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension and tragedy. Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with its Basques, Bretons and Corsicans.”

2. I would then invent “multiculturalism” and encourage immigrants to maintain their own culture. I would make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal: that there are no cultural differences that are important. I would declare it an article of faith that the black and Hispanic dropout rate is only due to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out-of-bounds.

3. We can make the United States a “Hispanic Quebec” without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently, “The apparent success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved, not by tolerance, but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentrically, and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.” I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with a salad bowl metaphor. It is important to insure that we have various cultural sub-groups living in America reinforcing their differences, rather than Americans emphasizing their similarities.

4. Having done all this, I would make our fastest-growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50 percent dropout rate from school.

5. I would then get the big foundations and big business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of victimology. I would get all minorities to think their lack of success was all the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population.

6. I would establish dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would “celebrate diversity.” “Diversity” is a wonderfully seductive word. It stresses differences rather than commonalities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other–that is, when they are not killing each other. A “diverse,” peaceful or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together, and we can take advantage of this myopia.

Look at the ancient Greeks. Dorf’s “World History” tells us: “The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshiped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic Games in honor of Zeus, and all Greeks venerated the shrine of Apollo at Delphi. A common enemy, Persia, threatened their liberty. Yet, all of these bonds together were not strong enough to overcome two factors … (local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions …)” If we can put the emphasis on the “pluribus,” instead of the “unum,” we can balkanize America as surely as Kosovo.

7. Then I would place all these subjects off-limits–make it taboo to talk about. I would find a word similar to “heretic” in the 16th century that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like “racist”, “xenophobe” halt argument and conversation. Having made America a bilingual-bicultural country, having established multiculturalism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of “victimology,” I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra –”because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good.” I would make every individual immigrant sympatric and ignore the cumulative impact.

8. Lastly, I would censor Victor Davis Hanson’s book “Mexifornia” –this book is dangerous; it exposes my plan to destroy America. So please, please–if you feel that America deserves to be destroyed–please, please–don’t buy this book! This guy is on to my plan.

FYI, Snopes lists this speech as "True."

Obama's plan for America

The New York Sun details the big government, super high taxes, plan of Barak Obama to drive the American economy into the shitter.

Senator Obama is very gloomy about America, and he's aligning himself with the liberal wing of the democratic party in hopes of coming to the nation's rescue. His proposal? Big-government planning, spending, and taxing — exactly what the nation and the stock market doesn't want to hear.

Mr. Obama unveiled much of his economic strategy in Wisconsin this week: He wants to spend $150 billion on a green-energy plan. He wants to establish an infrastructure investment bank to the tune of $60 billion. He wants to expand health insurance by roughly $65 billion. He wants to "reopen" trade deals, which is another way of saying he wants to raise the barriers to free trade.
...
This isn't free enterprise. It's old-fashioned-liberal tax, and spend, and regulate. It's plain ol' big government. The only people who will benefit are the central planners in Washington.
...
Mr. Obama would like voters to believe that he's the second coming of JFK. But with his unbelievable spending and new government-agency proposals he's looking more and more like Jimmy Carter. His is a "Grow the Government Bureaucracy Plan," and it's totally at odds with investment and business.
...
Mr. Obama says he wants American corporations to stop "shipping jobs overseas" and bring their cash back home. But if he really wanted U.S.companies to keep more of their profits in the states he'd be calling for a reduction in the corporate tax rate. Why isn't he demanding an end to the double-taxation of corporate earnings? It's simple: He wants higher taxes, too.

The Wall Street Journal's Steve Moore has done the math on Mr. Obama's tax plan. He says it will add up to a 39.6% personal income tax, a 52.2% combined income and payroll tax, a 28% capital-gains tax, a 39.6% dividends tax, and a 55% estate tax.

HRC to democrat voters: "You don't matter"

Long time Clinton mouthpiece Harold Ickes points out that the old white men who make up the bulk of the so-called democrat "Super delegates" will anoint Hillary Rodham Clinton no matter how many democrats vote for Barak Obama in primaries and caucuses.

[Harold Ickes] on Saturday boldly predicted his candidate would lock down the nomination before the August convention by definitively winning over party insiders and officials known as superdelegates, claiming the number of state elections won by rival Barack Obama would be “irrelevant” to their decision.

This is a pretty clear indication of how much the democrat party values the Democratic process.

Setting the WayBack Machine...

To one year ago today, we get the "Clinton Odor"

Amazing how fast corruption's odor trails the Clintons. Just as Hillary announces she's running for president as her own woman, we now learn her brother got loans he never had to repay. Same old grifters.

That should be a warning, because the seedy memory of the Clinton scandals has faded since Bill and Hillary left the White House in 2001, pardoning criminals, signing book deals and perhaps carting off the silver on their way out.
...
The couple abused the office of the president by selling political favors in exchange for campaign contributions. The two were so shameless in shaking money out of those who sought White House access that one collaborator, Johnny Chung, compared their operation to putting coins in a subway turnstile.

In return for campaign donations, they allowed U.S. technology to be sold to the Chinese, rented out the Lincoln bedroom to Hollywood second-stringers, indulged in improbably profitable commodity trades, and, for their finales, pardoned a long string of atrocious criminals, confident that their last-minute abuse of office would be forgotten as the nation turned its focus to a new president.
...
As we gear up for the 2008 election, voters should think long and hard about whether they want another eight years of these ethics as Hillary presents herself as a potential first female president.

Three years ago today, UNSCAM probe finds Kojo Annan up to his elbows in Blood for Oil
Kojo Annan, the son of U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, played a far more extensive role than previously revealed in a company that won a key contract under the scandal-plagued Iraq oil-for-food program, Senate investigators have learned.
Investigators also have uncovered documents suggesting that Benon Sevan, the U.N. official who oversaw the seven-year program and was suspended last week, had a much more direct interest in laundered oil deals handed out as bribes by Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein under the program. One Iraqi internal investigation put Mr. Sevan's profits at $1.2 million, nearly 10 times the previous estimate.

democrats version of democracy

Both HRC and Obama are giving huge chunks of campaign cash to so-called "superdelegates."

Many of the superdelegates who could well decide the Democratic presidential nominee have already been plied with campaign contributions by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, a new study shows.

"While it would be unseemly for the candidates to hand out thousands of dollars to primary voters, or to the delegates pledged to represent the will of those voters, elected officials serving as superdelegates have received about $890,000 from Obama and Clinton in the form of campaign contributions over the last three years," the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics reported today.

So much for the "will of the people." The democrats are running true to form and are trying to buy their way into office.

McCain & Obama sweep the Potomac Primaries. Win in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Triple losers Huckabee and Hillary Rodham Clinton left in the dust.
McCain was clearly the delegate winner before, but not Obama. Now he is AP has him up 1,212 to Clinton's 1,191.

Bad news for Hillary Rodham Clinton

Which is is good news for America!
HRC was soundly defeated by Barak Obama in four states in a row!
Nebraska, Louisiana, Washington, and Maine.
It seems the HRC "Inevitability" express has derailed and her advisers are in "state of panic".
Tomorrow, democrat voters go to the polls in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington,D.C.
Hopefully they too will reject HRC's twin legacies of the "Culture of Corruption" and the "Politics of Personal Destruction."

The panic has lead to a shake up at HRC campaign HQ. Her campaign manager, Patti Solis Doyle, is "quiting." She is to be replaced by Hillary's old White House Chief of Staff, Maggie Williams. Williams, as you recall, bold faced lied under oath to protect Hillary. The Clintons value that kind of personal loyalty over loyalty to the United States, the Constitution, or even the democrat party.

What is even more interesting is that it is really starting to look like Obama is going to collect more delegates selected by the people than HRC will. The Clintons are starting to grasp at that straw of winning though the use of so-called "super delegates" who are party insiders and power brokers. Bill Clinton is one of those so-called "super delegates" for example.
This is a classic example of how the democrat party really isn't interested in the democratic process. It's all about raw, naked lust for power.
There are democrats with principles still left, not many, but a few.
Donna Brazile is one. This former adviser to Al Gore has gone on record saying, "If 795 of my colleagues decide this election, I will quit the Democratic Party."

A humanitarian aid group that need your support.

This group has the following good deeds to their credit:

In 2005 as part of the tsunami relief effort they delivered 493,755 pounds of food, water and other supplies between 1/14/05 and 2/9/05.

In 2006, they provided much needed medical aid to East Timor.

In November, 2006 they treated 2,000 victims of the October earthquake in Shinkiari, Pakistan.

In August, 2006, this group worked with the Uganda People's Defense Force on multiple construction projects including the renovation of the local medical clinic, repairing the children's ward, the nurses and nuns residence and the kitchen.

In August, 2007 members of this group participated in Project Handclasp and over a period of six months refurbished and built eight schools.

In December, 2007 they delivered 254,425 pounds of food and supplies plus 14,309 gallons water and treated 2,355 patients, to disaster victims in Bangladesh.

I am sure these men and women don't seek your praise but I think it would appropriate if you and the city council would recognize their efforts.

Oh, by the way, I compiled these statistics by doing a quick Internet check of newspaper articles and I know this only represents a very small contribution made by a partial contingent of this group. In any event it's time they deserve your thanks. Did I forget to mention these are Marines?

The pimping double standard at MSNBC

Olbermann Watch has the story.

Update: Moxie nails the other MSM/DNC double standard:

It's scary when I agree with someone at MSNBC. But honestly, [Chelsea] was shielded during her White House years. She pretty much vanished into an angel's wing when she attended Stanford and beyond. Until recently, of course when she got more involved with her witch of a mother's campaign.

Let's contrast that with the harsh and constant scrutiny the Bush twins received. Every college foible was beyond documented and dissected. Names were called, no suspensions, no apologies and there we go with that nagging liberal media double standard.

I'm tired of that particular double standard.

Now Chelsea is an adult and by any definition, her Mom is pimping her out, to gather the young female vote, the celebrity female vote. Once you become active in a campaign, you are open to criticism and often painful but very true observations.

About your resume, Mrs. Clinton...

HRC claims she has thirty five years of public service, which is, of course, a lie.
Matt Stearns shines the harsh light of the truth on the matter:

[Hillary Rodham Clinton] routinely tells voters that she's "been working to bring positive change to people's lives for 35 years." She told a voter in New Hampshire: "I've spent so much of my life in the nonprofit sector." Speaking in South Carolina, Bill Clinton said his wife "could have taken a job with a firm ... Instead she went to work with Marian Wright Edelman at the Children's Defense Fund."
...
Clinton worked at the Children's Defense Fund for less than a year, and that's the only full-time job in the nonprofit sector she's ever had. She also worked briefly as a law professor.

Clinton spent the bulk of her career — 15 of those 35 years — at one of Arkansas' most prestigious corporate law firms, where she represented big companies and served on corporate boards.
...
She also served on corporate boards, including that of retail giant Wal-Mart from 1986-1992, frozen yogurt purveyor TCBY from 1985-1992 and cement manufacturer LaFarge from 1990-1992. She earned tens of thousands of dollars in fees from each.

Clinton's firm represented Wal-Mart and TCBY while she sat on their boards, a cozy practice that corporate governance experts frown upon because of the potential for conflicts of interest.

Remembering Tet

First, by way of Mr. Reynolds, the lies of Tet:

Media misreporting of Tet passed into our collective memory. That picture gave antiwar activism an unwarranted credibility that persists today in Congress, and in the media reaction to the war in Iraq. The Tet experience provides a narrative model for those who wish to see all U.S. military successes -- such as the Petraeus surge -- minimized and glossed over.

In truth, the war in Vietnam was lost on the propaganda front, in great measure due to the press's pervasive misreporting of the clear U.S. victory at Tet as a defeat. Forty years is long past time to set the historical record straight.

The Tet offensive came at the end of a long string of communist setbacks. By 1967 their insurgent army in the South, the Viet Cong, had proved increasingly ineffective, both as a military and political force. Once American combat troops began arriving in the summer of 1965, the communists were mauled in one battle after another, despite massive Hanoi support for the southern insurgency with soldiers and arms. By 1967 the VC had lost control over areas like the Mekong Delta -- ironically, the very place where reporters David Halberstam and Neil Sheehan had first diagnosed a Vietnam "quagmire" that never existed.
...
Tet was a particularly crushing defeat for the VC. It had not only failed to trigger any uprising but also cost them "our best people," as former Viet Cong doctor Duong Quyunh Hoa later admitted to reporter Stanley Karnow. Yet the very fact of the U.S. military victory -- "The North Vietnamese," noted National Security official William Bundy at the time, "fought to the last Viet Cong" -- was spun otherwise by most of the U.S. press.

As the Washington Post's Saigon bureau chief Peter Braestrup documented in his 1977 book, "The Big Story," the desperate fury of the communist attacks including on Saigon, where most reporters lived and worked, caught the press by surprise. (Not the military: It had been expecting an attack and had been on full alert since Jan. 24.) It also put many reporters in physical danger for the first time. Braestrup, a former Marine, calculated that only 40 of 354 print and TV journalists covering the war at the time had seen any real fighting. Their own panic deeply colored their reportage, suggesting that the communist assault had flung Vietnam into chaos.

Then by way of Ed Driscoll comes David Warren's article:
My friend, Uwe Siemon-Netto, a German Lutheran pastor and also life-long journalist, was there as a reporter. Entering Hué as the smoke was clearing: "I made my way to university apartments to obtain news about friends of mine, German professors at the medical school. I learned that their names had been on lists containing some 1,800 Hué residents singled out for liquidation.

"Six weeks later the bodies of doctors Alois Altekoester, Raimund Discher, Horst-Guenther Krainick, and Krainick's wife, Elisabeth, were found in shallow graves they had been made to dig for themselves.

"Then, enormous mass graves of women and children were found. Most had been clubbed to death, some buried alive; you could tell from the beautifully manicured hands of women who had tried to claw out of their burial place.

"As we stood at one such site, Washington Post correspondent Peter Braestrup asked an American TV cameraman, 'Why don't you film this?' He answered, 'I am not here to spread anti-communist propaganda'."

The Tet Offensive ended not only in a huge allied victory in the field -- some 45,000 of the Communist soldiers had been killed, and their infrastructure destroyed. It was victory after an event that showed sceptical South Vietnamese, and should have shown the world, the nature of the enemy our allies were fighting.

Walter Cronkite, the famous news anchor of CBS, led the American media reaction. After a very brief visit to Saigon, in which he got himself filmed wearing flak jackets, he returned to the United States, declaring before his huge prime time audience:

"It is increasingly clear to this reporter that the only rational way out will be to negotiate, not as victors, but as an honourable people who have lived up to their pledge to defend democracy, and did the best they could."

The media turned a tremendous victory into a tremendous defeat. Yet seven more years would pass until an America, which had by then abandoned Vietnam, and a Congress, which had cut off military supplies to the South Vietnamese, watched the helicopters removing America's last faithful servants from a roof in Saigon's old embassy compound.

Code Pink's roots really are pink!

It's not a dye job, the so-called "peace activist" organization has its roots in anti-American Communist groups that supported every war that had Cubans and their Russian advisor's fighting in.
Details from FrontPage Magazine:

Like any other group, Communists come in a lot of shapes, sizes and colors. This time they’re wearing pink, they’re on the nightly news, and more than anything, they want the mothers and grandmothers of America to identify with them.

If you didn’t know any better, you’d think the leaders of the women’s anti-war group Code Pink got lost on their way to the carpool line. Since October, these hot pink-clad "marching moms" have been spinning the same tale to reporters from coast to coast, the one about how concern for their families moved them to trade their oven mitts for placards and take to the streets in protest of an unjust war on Iraq.

They’ve played the part so convincingly that over the last six months, they’ve become the media darlings of war protest movement, raking in the television talk show invites and making national news when they were arrested in front of the White House. But the untold story is what they were doing before October.

Unless you travel in Marxist circles or work for the FBI or CIA, the names of the Code Pink moms may not ring a bell with you, though you’ve probably been reading news reports about their collective exploits for years. In the wake of their war against capitalism and self-determination, they’ve left a trail of anarchy and destruction that has cost property owners, corporations and consumers millions of dollars.

Naturally, they’ve toned their Marxist rhetoric down for their stint with Code Pink. Though they’ve taken great pains to differentiate themselves from the other, more radical anti-war protesters, they are one and the same. The leaders of Code Pink didn’t merely take part in the Washington and San Francisco protests that made international headlines – they also organized them. In the process, they’ve provided a rare public glimpse of the faces behind the modern, highly organized American Marxist movement. Needless to say, these women have little in common with the carpool moms of America.

At the center of Code Pink is legendary leftist organizer Medea Benjamin, the 50-year-old mother of two widely credited as a chief organizing force behind the 1999 Seattle riots in which 50,000 protesters did millions of dollars worth of property damage in their effort to shut down meetings of the World Trade Organization. In addition to Code Pink, Benjamin’s San Francisco-based human rights organization Global Exchange was the founding force for United for Peace and Justice coalition, the nexus of the anti-war protests.

The United for Peace coalition, which includes Socialist Action and the Socialist Party USA, is also led by Leslie Cagan, who has a long history of activism with the American Communist Party. If you want to know what anti-war activities United for Peace and its more radical partner, Act Now To Stop War & End Racism (ANSWER) have planned for the near future or contact information for how you can join in, you can click on the Communist World Workers Party website, one of the central grassroots clearing houses for communist organizers in the United States and around the world.

Some good News from Pakistan

By way of the Wall Street Journals "Best of the Web" is is this AP story:

Abu Laith al-Libi, a top al-Qaida commander blamed for bombing an Afghan base while Vice President Cheney visited last year, was killed in Pakistan by an airstrike, a U.S. government official said Thursday.

The strike was conducted by a Predator unmanned drone, the official said. It was carried out against a facility in north Waziristan, the lawless tribal area bordering Afghanistan. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to discuss the strike publicly.

An estimated 12 people were killed in the strike late Monday or early Tuesday, including Arabs, Turkeman from central Asia and local Taliban members, according to an intelligence official in the area who spoke on condition of anonymity. He said the bodies of those killed were badly mangled by the force of the explosion and it was difficult to identify them.

More on the Barbarians in Berkeley.

My friend Doug, a former US Army Infantryman and dyed in the wool liberal born and raised in San Francisco, has a few choice words about the actions of his neighbors in Berkeley against the United States Marine Corps.

The City of Berkeley has gone too fucking far. A USMC Recruiting office opened on Shattuck Avenue in December 2006. It's mission is to attract recent college graduates to serve as officers.

"Code Pink" one of the shriller anti-everything groups in the area, went nuts.

The Berkeley City Council just passed two resolutions: One gave Code Pink a designated parking spot, right in front of the station. The second?

The other resolution more directly criticizes the presence of the center in Berkeley. The city manager was directed to send a letter to the U.S. Marine Corps saying they are "uninvited and unwelcome intruders" in the city.

In addition, the city attorney has been directed to investigate whether the city's anti-discrimination laws can be enforced at the center, based on the military's consideration of sexual orientation in hiring.

The United States Marine Corps. Morons, if the Marines were coming to your town as "unwelcome intruders" y'all would currently be either dead or learning to love life as an EPW. Marine recruiters are complete professionals, and I say this as an old Army grunt!

But things get better.. Betty Olds, member of the Politburo for the PR of Berkeley actually said the following:

"I'm ashamed of my vote," said Councilwoman Betty Olds, who helped approve the parking spot but not the condemnation. "The protesters should have free speech - this is where Free Speech was born, after all - but to tell the Marines they are not welcome is shameful. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't even go for the parking spot."

Free Speech in this country was born at a place called Lexington and Concord. The rights enshrined in the First Amendment were won by force of arms, including those first Marines.

Amazing.

So, until both these resolutions are withdrawn and the City Council of Berkeley issues an apology to the USMC, I will not be spending a freaking dime in that city. That includes companies based in the den of weasels.

Let Bezekely know how you feel about this:

Contact information for the Berkeley City Council

Office Hours: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., E-mail: clerk@ci.berkeley.ca.us

Mayor - Tom Bates

Email: mayor@ci.berkeley.ca.us
TEL: (510) 981-7100
FAX: (510) 981-7199
TDD: (510) 981-6903
Office Hours: Mon-Fri 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You might also contact your national representatives and suggest that if Berkeley hates the federal government so much, they can do without federal money.

To be clear, I support Code Pink's right to be idiots in public. What is appalling is a city government attacking a branch of the military.

Update
: How others view the US Marine Corps:
"Some people live their entire lifetime and wonder if they ever made a difference to the world. Marines don't have that problem." -- United States President Ronald Reagan, January 1995

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank GOD for the United States Marine Corps." Eleanor Roosevelt, 1945

"Marines are about the most peculiar breed of human beings I have ever witnessed. They treat their service as if it were some kind of cult, plastering their emblem on almost everything they own, making themselves up to look like insane fanatics with haircuts to ungentlemanly lengths, worshipping their Commandant almost as if he were a god, and making weird animal noises like a band of savages. They'll fight like rabid dogs at the drop of a hat just for the sake of a little action, and are the cockest sons of bitches I have ever known. Most have the foulest mouths and drink well beyond man's normal limits, but their high spirits and sense of brotherhood set them apart and, generally speaking, the United States Marines I've come in contact with are the most professional soldiers and the finest men I have ever had the pleasure to meet." -- An Anonymous Canadian Citizen

"I think it's nothing more than the way the Marines do business. They approach everything from the way they do business in Washington to how they approach a peacetime program objective like it's a combat operation, and it's one of the reasons they are so darned successful." -- U.S. Navy SEAL Commander Mark Divine

Also, take note of of the last photo in Zombietime's collection of the Code Pink Moonbats "protest." As soon as they punch the clock and leave, a Marine smartly polices the area.

Hillary Rodham Clinton's A Team

Jay Tea lists some key Clinton team members:

Former federal judge Alcee Hastings, impeached for corruption and removed from office back in 1989.

Bill Clinton: Impeached for perjury, acquitted by the Senate, but stripped of his license to practice law for lying under oath.

Sandy Berger: Pleaded guilty to stealing and destroying 9/11-related documents from the National Archives; has yet to undergo the agreed-upon polygraph test over the matter.

Norman Hsu: Wanted fugitive for fraud from the 90s, sneaked back into the US and became a major fundraiser for Hillary until his fugitive status was uncovered.

Sidney Blumenthal: Faciing trial for aggravated drunken driving in Nashua, New Hampshire the night of the New Hampshire primary.

This is what you can expect of a possible HRC White House Staff. The continuing of their Culture of Corruption.
