This should not have been a suprise...

...to anyone who has been paying attention for the last few decades.
The editorial board at the Manchester Union Leader are surprised that Hillary Rodham Clinton lied to the people of New Hampshire.

COURTING VOTERS in Iowa and New Hampshire, last August Sen. Hillary Clinton signed a pledge not to “campaign or participate” in the Michigan or Florida Democratic primaries. She participated in both primaries and is campaigning in Florida. Which proves, again, that Hillary Clinton is a liar.

Clinton kept her name on the Michigan ballot when others removed theirs, she campaigned this past weekend in Florida, and she is pushing to seat Michigan and Florida delegates at the Democratic National Convention. The party stripped those states of delegates as punishment for moving up their primary dates.

“I will try to persuade my delegates to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida,” Clinton said last week, after the New Hampshire primaries and Iowa caucuses were safely over.

Clinton coldly and knowingly lied to New Hampshire and Iowa. Her promise was not a vague statement. It was a signed pledge with a clear and unequivocal meaning.

She signed it thinking that keeping the other candidates out of Michigan and Florida was to her advantage, but knowing she would break it if that proved beneficial later on. It did, and she did.

New Hampshire voters, you were played for suckers.

That is what the Clintons do, they lie. Continuously and without remorse.
It has been their pattern their entire political life and they will continue to do so.

What did the US Congress get for the "Carbon Offsets" it paid for with taxpayer dollars? As Captain Ed points out, absolutely nothing.

No surprise to anyone paying attention.

How the left "supports the troops"

They don't really, they just mouth the words so they don't sound like the anti-American barbarians they really are. If you are against "war and stuff", vote your congresscritter who votes for it out of office. Attacking the men and women in uniform who defend your right to curse them is barbaric.
Case in point, the so-called compassionate and caring far hard left extremist leftist "liberals" in Berkeley, CA who are trying to pass a new zoning law for U.S. Military recruitment offices that they admit is based on the law for porn shops.
Frankly, I'm surprised that Berkeley has such harsh laws against adult oriented businesses exercising their First Amendment rights. I guess all that "Freedom of Expression" stuff is to have adult bookstores in your neighborhood, not theirs.

Hillary's Record

HRC keeps reminding people that she is the one with the "experience."
Jay Tea takes us on a stroll down memory lane to review some of that so-called "experience."

Back when Bill was Arkansas' Attorney General (and on the cusp of becoming governor for the first time), she thought it might be fun to play the cattle futures market. So she found a friend who was an attorney for Tyson Foods and giave him $1,000 to invest. Mr. James Blair helped Hillary parlay that grand into a cool hundred grand (an incredible near-10,000 % return on her investment).

And how did he work his magic? First, by getting two of Tyson Foods' top people to advise him (note that Tyson is a major player in actually buying and using these cattle futures, but we won't call it "inside trading," that would be crass). Secondly, by bundling Hillary's money with his own and making sure that "her" money only earned profits, while "his" absorbed all the losses.
...
[HRC] decided to reward some of her loyal supporters by putting them in charge of the White House Travel Office. To pull this off, she had to fire the current staff. These were traditionally career employees, not political employees (some had worked there through at least four prior administrations), but that didn't stop Hillary. To justify their mass firing, she called in the FBI and had them look for the financial improprieties she alleged against the former staffers. None ever turned up, but by then Hillary's buddies were firmly ensconced in the office.

What we don't need is another round of signature Clinton Culture of Corruption politics in the executive branch.

Hillary's sleazy delegate grab

Bipartisan support on Hillary Rodham Clinton taking the sleazy low road (no surprise to anyone paying attention).
On the Right, Michelle Malkin,

It’s blue-on-blue in-fighting again over in the land of the Donkeys. Hillary Clinton posted an announcement on her campaign website today that is causing aneurysms on the Left.

Poligazette sums it up:
Hillary Clinton is now arguing that the convention should seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida that everyone agreed shouldn’t be seated. Whether that decision was right or wrong, every Democratic candidate in the race agreed not to campaign in those states because of their (too-)early primary dates, and every major candidate but Hillary withdrew their name from the Michigan ballot. Because of her massive edge in name recognition and because no advertising or debates took place in Florida, Hillary has essentially won by default in both states. Having “won” a considerable number of delegates solely because no one else contested the races, all of a sudden she is struck by the manifest unfairness of not seating the delegates — and just in time for a) a bounce in the Florida poll for sticking up for them, and b) Obama to have no chance to contest the Florida race!

On the loopy far extremist left, you have the DUmmies.
Hillary Clinton to Howard Dean: Screw you.
I do not think Hillary won Michigan fairly, since I believe she got the endorsement of Governor Granholm after Clinton fundraisers gave Granholm's campaign a huge amount of money. Seating Michigan delegates also leaves out the many voters of Michigan who were only permitted to vote as "uncommitted", and could not write in either Obama or Edwards.
...
It just reinforces the stink coming from the Clinton campaign. They do not even have to do this, as Hillary can win otherwise, but they seem to be pulling out all stops it seems. Very ugly.

Internet Voters Put "GI Jill" Into Semi-Finals of Miss America

Obama crushes Clinton in South Carolina

According to ABC News, Barark Obama crushed Hillary Rodham Clinton, with a record breaking heavy voter turnout, by a whopping 55% to 27%, with John "Silky Pony" Edwards trailing in his home state democrat primary with a pathetic 18%.

HRC can thank her husband Bill's embarrassing behavior for a large part of her crushing defeat.
Billy Jeff is downplaying Hillary's defeat by playing the race card, yet again.

Another reporter asked what it said about Obama that it “took two people to beat him.” Clinton again passed. “That’s’ just bait, too. Jesse Jackson won South Carolina twice, in ‘84 and ‘88. And he ran a good campaign. Senator Obama’s run a good campaign here, he’s run a good campaign everywhere.”

The reference to Jackson seemed a way to downplay today’s result in a state where a majority of voters are African American.

Michelle Malkin points out that some of the poll numbers are really damaging to HRC.
Black women, who she was hoping would vote with their gender identity, voted for Obama 82-17. Obama also beat HRC in getting the votes of women overall, 61% to 39%.
Even Edwards beat HRC among white voters 39% to 36%.

In all, an embarrassing and crushing defeat for Hillary Rodham Clinton and Billy Jeff Clinton. One they will try to spin as a fluke caused by black voters daring to leave the Clinton plantation.

War Without End...

The Kosovo War is still on going.

The Kosovo war isn't over. At the moment, Serbian ballots take precedence over bullets; democratic electoral politics are a blessing in Serbia and Kosovo, just like they are in Iraq.

But make no mistake: Sunday's first-round 2008 presidential vote in Serbia was another battle in the Kosovo War, and it will not be the last. . . . The process has brought Vladimir Putin's muscular Kremlin into open conflict with Germany, Great Britain, France and the United States.

HT to Mr. Reynolds, who raises an important point, "...somebody should ask Bill Clinton if this is all according to plan."

The truth of the matter is ...

...as Mr. Reynolds correctly puts it, "Media spin notwithstanding, it was Kerry, not the swiftboaters, who had to retract falsehoods.

Update: Ed Driscoll points out The Greatest Hollywood Digital Special Effects Job In History

Yes, how did the Swift Vets, on their budget, talk Industrial Light & Magic into digitally inserting Kerry into footage of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations back in 1971, and pay Rich Little for doing an outrageously over-the-top Boston Brahmin accent? (But c'mon Rich--JJJJJennnghis Kahn? isn't that a bit too much? Nobody will believe it!) To complete the ultimate scam, ILM then digitally inserted Kerry, much like Hollywood's Forrest Gump a decade ago, onto the set of the Dick Cavett Show from that same year. And they talked C-Span into running that footage in 2004. Amazing!

Good news out of Iraq

Way to go Task Force 88!

Iraqi and Coalition forces continue to press the fight against al Qaeda in Iraq in the northeastern province of Diyala, where the terror group maintains small pockets. In the latest series of raids as part of Operation Raider Harvest, Iraqi and US forces killed 30 al Qaeda operatives and captured 21, including a senior al Qaeda leader, during raids and operations.

On Jan. 22 and Jan. 23, special operations teams of Task Force 88 carried out two raids north of Baqubah. The first raid targeted "an improvised explosive device specialist involved in coordinating IED and suicide-vest attacks in the region ... with ties to several al Qaeda in Iraq senior leaders." The Special Forces team killed the high-value target and one other operative during the raid, and found improvised explosive devices and grenades at the scene.

HRC buying votes

No surprise to anybody who has paid attention to standard Clinton/DNC tactics.
From CNS News:

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) secured more than $1 million in federal funding last year for a Harlem-based non-profit whose leader gave her presidential campaign a major endorsement last weekend.

Clinton -- who is aggressively competing for the black vote with her chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) -- touted the endorsement of Rev. Calvin O. Butts III, a prominent black leader and pastor of one of the oldest black churches in America, the Abyssinian Baptist Church of Harlem.

The $555-billion FY 2008 omnibus spending bill approved last month by Congress included 11 appropriations bills with almost 1,000 earmarks. Clinton teamed with senior New York Sen. Charles Schumer and New York Rep. Charles Rangel, both Democrats, to provide three earmarks for the Abyssinian Development Corporation (ADC).

The ADC is a separate non-profit community development organization chaired by Butts that focuses on increasing quality housing, delivering social services, and boosting economic and educational opportunities in Harlem.

Clinton backed an $839,000 earmark to the development corporation's programs for at-risk youth; $446,500 for the organization to expand youth after-school programs; and $146,000 for the group's social service work.

By way of AoSHQ, comes this Spectator.org story that the Huckabee Campaign is running out of money.

Mike Huckabee is asking his senior staff to keep working for him without pay, while lower level campaign staff are seeing their salaries cut dramatically or eliminated altogether.

"The goal is to get a leaner, meaner campaign structure moving into Super Tuesday," says a senior campaign adviser.

But many of those being asked to take the cut are refusing, and walking away, leaving the campaign with holes to fill.

More Blue on Blue attacks

RightWing Sparkle notes that the Koskiddies are turning on HRC.
The money quote from one of the Koskiddies:

After being a part of this campaign, doing this work, and seeing this level of viciousness from a supposedly Democratic candidate, it will be a cold day in hell before I do any work for anyone in any way associated with Hillary Clinton. At this point, even my general election vote is in question. I am furious almost to the point of nausea.

Update: Breitbart is covering some of the items mentioned by the KosKids.
US Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign on Sunday said that it had received reports of voting irregularities in Nevada's nominating caucuses, which were won by rival Hillary Clinton.

Spokesmen for Obama's campaign told reporters that a Clinton party handout urged registration lines for the caucuses Saturday to close at 11:30 am, whereas state party rules said anyone in line until 12:00 pm was to be allowed to participate.

"Despite clear rules and timelines laid out by the Nevada Democratic Party that caucus doors should remain open and voter registration should continue until noon, the Clinton campaign encouraged their operatives to close the caucus doors at 11:30 am, a half hour before that deadline," said spokesman Bill Burton.

"This caused confusion and led to people leaving the caucuses before having the chance to participate."

A couple of quick political comments.

I’ve had a couple of people ask me if it is true that Barak Obama is a Muslim.
As much as the HRC campaign would like this rumor they spread to be true, it isn’t.
He is a Christian. He and his family have been active in his church for a very long time.
If you’re bothered by Mike Huckabee’s religious background, you should take a long hard look at the Church Barak Obama is closely associated with.

I’ve also had people tell me they won’t vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon. Most of the people would never had let the words “I won’t vote for Lieberman because he’s a Jew” escape their lips. Mormons are from what I can see, are not members of the trilaterial commission. I’ve lived in the Peoples Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a couple of decades now, and from my point of view, while Governor, Romney was not receiving his marching orders from Salt Lake City. Now, there are other practical reasons to have concerns about Romney. For example, the Republican party here in the PCM was worse off after four years of his leadership than they were when he took office.

Key points

It's important to remember that the Republicans lost the majority in Congress in 2006 because they didn't cut federal spending while they cut taxes.

Most democrats are running on even more federal spending and jacking taxes through the roof.

That probably isn't a good plan for getting fiscally conservative independents to vote left.

A proven good way to stimulate the economy is to keep more money in the hands of the tax paying citizens.

Meanwhile in Iraq...

Pilgrim at SayAnything sums it up, U.S. And Iraqis Continue To Beat Al-Qaeda Like A Drum. The Washington Post probably didn't run this news on the front page.

U.S. and Iraqi forces have killed 60 militants, seized dozens of weapons caches and detained 193 suspects during the first week of a major offensive against al Qaeda in northern Iraq, the U.S. military said.

The military said one of the weapons caches had been found in an underground bunker complex with several rooms in volatile Diyala province north of Baghdad, a religiously mixed area that is a hotbed of al Qaeda activity.

Dangerous vets decend on America

Dangerous Unhinged Media Vets endanger America.
Iowahawk has the story.

A Denver newspaper columnist is arrested for stalking a story subject. In Cincinnati, a television reporter is arrested on charges of child molestation. A North Carolina newspaper reporter is arrested for harassing a local woman. A drunken Chicago Sun-Times columnist and editorial board member is arrested for wife beating. A Baltimore newspaper editor is arrested for threatening neighbors with a shotgun. In Florida, one TV reporter is arrested for DUI, while another is charged with carrying a gun into a high school. A Philadelphia news anchorwoman goes on a violent drunken rampage, assaulting a police officer. In England, a newspaper columnist is arrested for killing her elderly aunt.

Unrelated incidents, or mounting evidence of that America's newsrooms have become a breeding ground for murderous, drunk, gun-wielding child molesters? Answers are elusive, but the ever-increasing toll of violent crimes committed by journalists has led some experts to warn that without programs for intensive mental health care, the nation faces a potential bloodbath at the hands of psychopathic media vets.

"These people could snap at any minute," says James Treacher of the Treacher Institute for Journalist Studies. "We need to get them the help and medication they need before it's too late."

More delicious Schadenfreude.

More yummy, crunchy goodness from Bryan at Hot Air.
In this case it Mexican politicians whining about the cost of illegals immigrants coming back to their legal home country in Mexico because of common sense laws in Arizona.

A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson on Tuesday to say Arizona's new employer sanctions law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state.
At a news conference, the legislators said Sonora - Arizona's southern neighbor, made up of mostly small towns - cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as illegal Mexican workers here return to their hometowns without jobs or money.

Looking at the delgate count in Nevada

Remember kids, its how many delegates you have, not how many votes you got, that count in a primary.

Barak Obama is claiming he actually won more delegates than HRC in Nevada.
CNN is currently calling the count at 14 each in Nevada.

The left's circular firing squad

Captain Ed has some great examples of the left's hypocritical political theater:

There are a few moments where pure schadenfreude can honestly be enjoyed without guilt. Besides Geraldo getting assaulted by neo-Nazis he wanted to exploit for ratings, the second-best example is watching Democrats beat each other up by accusing each other of the voter fraud they insist doesn't exist in general elections. This time, Bill Clinton provides the blue-on-blue action in Nevada:

Today when my daughter and I were wandering through the hotel, and all these culinary workers were mobbing us telling us they didn’t care what the union told them to do, they were gonna caucus for Hillary.

There was a representative of the organization following along behind us going up to everybody who said that, saying 'if you’re not gonna vote for our guy were gonna give you a schedule tomorrow so you can’t be there.' So, is this the new politics? I haven’t seen anything like that in America in 35 years. So I will say it again – they think they're better than you.

Wow -- who would have thought that unions try to organize voters? Isn't that why people like Bill Clinton have sucked up to them for decades? Having a leading Democrat complain about union pressure on members for political action has to be one of the most clarifying and completely hilarious moments in politics since .... well, since Howard Dean flamed out in Iowa and the Democrats picked John Kerry as the nominee.

Just keep in mind that the quote is from Billy Jeff Clinton. He has a long history of just making shit up and passing it as gospel.
A couple of key examples: his "remembering" arson attacks on black churches in his youth, didn't happen; claiming he did not having sex with dozens of women not his wife, did happen. That is just two out of many that could be listed.

HT to Ed Driscoll.

Update: Bryan at Hot Air has the story on Obama supporting democrats crying voter fraud.
I guess we’re just going to have to get used to this sort of after-the-fact crying foul in every single election involving a Democrat.

It’s not just one diary on Kos. Here’s another. The Obama campaign itself has made the claim of “more than 200 voting irregularities” in Nevada.

We never hear anything like this on the Republican side.

That the Clintons are involved lends the possibility of it actually having some weight, I’ll admit.

The Schadenfreude is delicious!

Barak Obama is the New Bill Clinton

For those of you who remember 1992, Bill Clinton, once he got rolling (he didn’t have a win until his fifth primary) got people fired up. He was charismatic and actually seemed to care about people. He was a young, Post WWII generation maverick out to “change” the way Washington, D.C. did business

Now, I’m no fan of Billy Jeff Clinton, but like to give credit where it is due and that is a reasonably decent summary of the situation for now.

Let’s look at the situation today. We have Bill’s wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, trying to ride his reputation into the White House. While HRC is many things, she certainly is not charismatic and she has all the warmth and compassion of a python sizing up its next meal. She wants to retreat to big “Nanny State” government and fund her socialist agenda by raising taxes through the roof.

Then you have Barak “Barry” Obama. He’s the young maverick to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s smoke filled back room political party machine methods.
He is running as an agent of change (just don’t look to closely at it).
He’s charismatic, a damn good speaker and he’s energizing young voters in a way that hasn’t been done in decades.

Let’s face it, if Billy Jeff wasn’t tied to the old Ball and Chain, he’d be backing Obama.

Update: On the other side, everyone wants to be the new Ronald Reagan. Even liberal democrat Obama is trying to ride that Great President's coattails.

Signs that Bill Clinton is back on drugs.

When he was governor of Arkansas (which was rated 49th in education at the time), the DEA recorded his brother Rodger as saying his brother had a nose like vacuum cleaner.
It looks like Billy Jeff Clinton is hitting the Colombian Marching powder again. It's clear by this rather nonsensical statement he recently made according to USA Today.
He made the bizzare claim that Senator Barak Obama is the "Establishment" candidate.

Let's compare records. Senator Obama was a state senator from a "Fly Over" state a few years ago. He has not had the thirty five plus years of institutionalized corruption that Mrs. Bill Clinton, a.k.a. Hillary Rodham Clinton, has had, going back to her days as "First Lady" of Arkansas and serving on the boards of large corporations based in Arkansas. Then there is here experience working for the miserable failure known as the Carter Administration where she ended her government service by funneling US taxpayer funds to known terrorist organizations. Let us not forget her brothers selling Presidential pardons to the highest bidders either.
Hillary Rodham Clinton's record of corruption and slavish loyalty to the liberal establishment is long and well documented.

It's obvious that Bill Clinton is just doing what he does best, lying.

democrats disenfranchise poor and minority voters in Nevada.

Of course, this is no surprise to anyone who pays attention. Stealing elections is right out of the democrat playbook.
Mike of Mike's America has the details:

Remember all the brouhaha about the Bush campaign trying to disenfranchise Black voters in Florida? Yet, when the U.S. Civil Rights Commission issued it's otherwise scathing report, it could find NOT ONE person denied the right to vote.

If anyone disagrees, then name Black voter who was intentionally refused the right to vote due to a Bush conspiracy to deny their rights.

You might think that Democrats would be especially sensitive to the issue since they routinely demonstrate such concern on the matter. If you thought that, you would be wrong.

Ari Berman writes in The Nation:

...On Meet the Press on Sunday, Hillary Clinton said her campaign had nothing to do with a lawsuit--written about by Nation Editor Katrina vanden Heuvel--that threatens to prevent thousands of workers from voting in the Nevada caucus on Saturday.

Back in March, the Nevada Democratic Party agreed to set up caucus locations on the Vegas strip for low-income shift workers, many of them members of the state's influential Culinary Union, who commute long distances to work and wouldn't be able to get home in time to caucus. It was an uncontroversial idea until the Culinary Union endorsed Barack Obama and the Nevada State Education Association, whose top officials support Clinton, sued to shut down the caucus sites. The Clinton camp played dumb until yesterday, when President Clinton came out in favor of the lawsuit.

Clinton's comments drew a heated response from D. Taylor, the head of Nevada's Culinary Union, on MSNBC's Hardball. "He is in support of disenfranchising thousands upon thousands of workers, not even just our members," Taylor said of Clinton. "The teachers union is just being used here. We understand that. This is the Clinton campaign. They tried to disenfranchise students in Iowa. Now they're trying to disenfranchise people here in Nevada, who are union members and people of color and women."

Rank-and-file members of Nevada's teachers union also come out against the lawsuit filed by their leadership. "We never thought our union and Senator Clinton would put politics ahead of what's right for our students, but that's exactly what they're doing," the letter stated.

Suppression of voters who dare to oppose the democrat machine. It is standard operating procedure for democrats. Remember that it was Al Gore and the DNC who sent squads of hit lawyers across Florida in 2000 to deny the vote to legally registered members of the United States Armed Forces serving overseas.

Mobile Internet Devices and mobile carriers

Internet Evolution has a pair of good posts on the subject.
Carrier Garden Walls Are Tumbling Down

and

Are Mobile Internet Devices the Next Big Thing?

I was on the bandwagon early with my old Palm i705, but I'm currently sans such a device. I've been looking at Crackberry, Treo and iPhone devices, but none of them have all the features I want. My wish list is includes the big sharp screen and browser of the iPhone, and the openness and expandability of the Treo (a SD slot is important).

This could be a problem

Bob Krumm notes that this won't play well with black voters in Michigan:

How do you think Detroit’s largely black population is going to react when they go to the polls tomorrow and learn that

(a) Hillary Clinton is on the ballot

(b) Barack Obama is not on the ballot

(c) Write-in votes are not counted?

If the Clintons think they have a potential race problem brewing in the Democratic Party now, they haven’t seen anything yet.

Meanwhile, in California...

The Nanny State is progressing along nicely. The International Herald Tribune reports:

Next year in California, state regulators are likely to have the emergency power to control individual thermostats, sending temperatures up or down through a radio-controlled device that will be required in new or substantially modified houses and buildings to manage electricity shortages.
...
The changes would allow utilities to adjust customers' preset temperatures when the price of electricity is soaring. Customers could override the utilities' suggested temperatures. But in emergencies, the utilities could override customers' wishes.

I count this as yet another example of California's slide into the Third World.

3 Cheers for Cuban-Americans!

They treated the "Code Pink" anti-American idiots with all the respect they deserve.
From the Sun-Sentinel:

Female peace activists in pink dresses and tiaras demanded the arrest of anti-communist militant Luis Posada Carriles Saturday, but aborted plans for a demonstration in Little Havana after his supporters rushed their vehicle.

The activists, from the Codepink anti-war group, had planned to speak to reporters outside the landmark Versailles restaurant to publicize their campaign against Posada Carriles — a former CIA operative wanted in Venezuela in connection with the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner.

However the five women, who were accompanied by at least one man, were met by some 200 irate Cuban-Americans who consider Posada Carriles a champion of freedom. Several charged at the activists' truck as they arrived, tearing at its pink fringe, while others jeered and shouted insults. The truck then drove on.

Carbon Offset Scams

No surprise here. The New York Times is finally admitting that a lot of money spent on this scam of the Cult of Algore is lining the pockets of con artists.

As more companies use offset programs to create an environmental halo over their products, the commission said it was growing increasingly concerned that some green marketing assertions were not substantiated. Environmentalists have a word for such misleading advertising: “greenwashing.”

With the rapid growth of green programs like carbon offsets, “there’s a heightened potential for deception,” said Deborah Platt Majoras, chairwoman of the commission.

A telling quote about the Clintons

"The Clinton's always use two sets of brass knuckles when one will do."

Liberal democrat Mara Liasson of NPR on Fox News Sunday 1/13/08.

Let us look at that experience

Hillary Rodham Clinton is on Meet the Press this morning. She is beating the drum again on her so-called "experience" over Senator Obama. Let us review that experience.

  • A failed attempt to socialize the Health Care process in America. That was shot down by a democrat congress.
  • $100,000 bribes described as "beginners luck" in trading Cattle Futures.
  • Coordinating media and legal attacks against woman sexually assaulted by her husband.
  • Being a board member on Arkansas based corporations while her husband was governor of Arkansas.
  • Taking family vacations in DisneyWorld paid for, including flying on the corporate planes, of the largest polluter in Arkansas while her husband was governor.
  • Acute memory loss while under oath.
  • Her brothers selling Presidential pardons to the highest bidder.

Hillary's experience is well detailed and here are some books that spell it out plainly.

Hillary Rodham Clinton is also talking about having more "transparency" in government if, God[s] forbid, she becomes President.
Let's review the Historic record, which tells a different story.

  • Closed door sessions for Hillary Rodham Clinton's miserable failure at socializing Health Care.
  • Former First Lady Hillary Clinton commenting on the release of subpoenaed documents:
"I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president."
  • Hillary's Chief of Staff illegally stealing documents from the recently deceased Vince Foster's office and then lying about it under oath.

Civil Rights win in D.C.

The Volokh Conspiracy has the story:

A unanimous 3-judge decision of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals has dismissed a municipal lawsuit brought against firearms manufacturers, District of Columbia v. Beretta et al. The court ruled that the suit was barred by the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Firearms Act, which was passed by Congress in 2005, and which by its terms applies to all pending and future cases.

In the first part of the decision, the court rules that the congressional act applies to lawsuits brought under D.C.'s Strict Liability Act, which imposes absolute liability on manufacturers for certain firearms injuries. The second part of the decision rejects various arguments that it is unconstitutional for a congressional statute to be applied to a lawsuit that has already been filed.

A civil rights victory in San Francisco

By way of Alphecca comes the good news:

A 2005 voter-approved ban on gun sales and handgun possession in The City was shot down again — this time in the California Court of Appeals.

All three state appellate judges hearing The City’s appeal of a 2006 San Francisco Superior Court decision against the prohibition agreed Wednesday that the law was invalid because state law pre-empted it.

Judge Ignazio Ruvolo, who wrote the decision, took issue with portions of Proposition H that banned the sale, manufacture, transfer or distribution of ammunition of firearms as well as the ban of handgun possession.

“The sheer breadth of Prop. H makes it vulnerable to a pre-emption challenge,” Ruvolo wrote. “We wish to stress that the goal of any local authority wishing to legislate in the area of gun control should be to accommodate the local interest with the least possible interference with state law.”

Who actually won in New Hampshire...

On the Republican side, it was clearly Senator John McCain.

On the democrat side, it is not so clear.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, wife of the only US president to be disbarred while in office, won a narrow victory in the popular vote.

However, parties don't pick their nominee by popular vote. The eventual winner is the one with the most delegates.

According to CNN, Barak Obama won more delegates than HRC.

So, media hype aside, it was Obama who actually won in the delegate count. 12 to Clinton's 11.

McCain Scores big, HRC squeaks by...

Senator John McCain slam dunked the New Hampshire Republican primary by soundly defeating former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in his back yard.

Hillary Rodham Clinton barely squeaked by Senator Barak Obama after pulling out all the stops, including paying to bus in supporters from out of state.

Of course, you can count on the far left extremist moonbat nutroots at the DU for entertainment in time like this.

Meanwhile, in South Carolina...

In November 2007, HRC had a 10 point lead on Barak Obama.
In December 2007, they were a dead heat.

It's now January 2008, the Eve of the New Hampshire primary and according the Rasmussen poll, Obama leads Hillary Rodham Clinton by 12 points! 42% to 30%, with the Silky Pony bringing up a distant third with 14%.

Unrest in Hillary Land

One of Hillary Rodham Clinton's key strengths has been that sense of "Inevitability" that her campaign has been riding on. After being defeated soundly by some who was a state senator in a Fly Over State a few years ago and being being 10 points the same fellow the day before the oh so important New Hampshire primary, that sense of "Inevitability" is melting like snow in a warm spring rain.

Matt Drudge has the details:

Facing a double-digit defeat in New Hampshire, a sudden collapse in national polls and an expected fund-raising drought, Senator Hillary Clinton is preparing for a tough decision: Does she get out of the race? And when?!

"She can't take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada," laments one top campaign insider to the DRUDGE REPORT. "If she gets too badly embarrassed, it will really harm her. She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats."

Meanwhile, Democrat hopeful John Edwards has confided to senior staff that he is staying in the race because Hillary "could soon be out."

"Her money is going to dry up," Edwards confided, a top source said Monday morning.

The Edwards campaign may have something. Money follows success in politics.
If Obama keeps winning, money that would have gone into Hillary's war chest will start flowing his way.

Ace has more, including a new poll showing an Edwards surge, that could hand HRC another lackluster third place showing.

Meanwhile in New Hampshire...

According to CNN, the people of New Hampshire are rejection the Politics of Personal Destruction and the Culture of Corruption that were the highlights of the Clinton administration in the 1990's. Their polls show Barak Obama leaving Hillary Rodham Clinton in the dust, 39% to 29% after defeating her soundly in Iowa and her lackluster performance in Saturday's debate.

Hillary Rodham Clinton's desperation is showing. Her elitist fat cat funded campaign is busing in supporters from as far away as New York to make her New Hampshire campaign stops look like she has more support in New Hampshire than she really has.

When the event ended I talked to some of the out-of-staters, including Julia Fuchs, 65 and a recent graduate student. She was about to board one of the [chartered] buses back to New York after spending two days in the Granite State for Clinton.

"We are crazy about her. We came here to stump for her, they told me where to go," she said. "The campaign paid for everything."

Black Helicopters seen buzzing around HufPo

NewsBusters points out that sanity is not their strength at HufPo:

Want some old fashioned black helicopter, conspiracy goofiness? Check out the frenzied work of HufPoster Joseph Palmero who imagines that if Obama becomes president members of Blackwater security services or Haliburton would somehow decide to assassinate him. After reading his wild-eyed musings, one wonders if the foam from his mouth short circuited his keyboard as he wrote?

In an effort to equate Obama's rather empty rhetoric and lack of a substantive record to what Palmero imagines his lefty pals will imagine is "greatness," Palmero tries to work in some equating of the junior Senator from Illinois with Robert F. Kennedy's campaign for the Dem nomination for president in 1968.

Good news from New Hampshire

Hillary Rodham Clinton booed at a democrat party dinner.

Folks in New Hampshire are showing some good sense.

GUILTY! GUILITY! GUILTY!

HRC's Chinese Connection, convicted felon and democrat fundraiser, Norman Hsu has been convicted once again. This time it's three years in a California state pen. He still faces federal fraud charges in New York.

On to New Hampshire!

It's official, the "Inevitable" winner Hillary Rodham Clinton got her considerable ass kicked by both the guy who was a state legislator in a fly over state a few years ago and the fear mongering Breck Boy in Iowa. Obama beat her by a solid nine points! She couldn't even beat a class warfare trial lawyer who couldn't even carry his own state in the 2004 elections. A very poor showing for the woman who be Queen.

Update: Two telling items from Iowa. One, Obama beat HRC among women democrat voters. That bears repeating, Barak Hussein Obama got more support than Hillary Rodham Clinton did in what should have been her core support group. Two, Over 70% of democrat voters in Iowa voted for somebody other than She Would Be Queen, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Hillary Clinton's America

What can America look forward to under a possible Hillary Rodham Clinton reign?
Let's review some of the highlights of her previous "Co-Presidency."
Gerard Jackson has some good examples:

This is the woman who condemned the NYPD; who stood aside while her race-baiting anti-Semitic buddies demonised the men and women in blue and smeared Giuliani by comparing him to Adolf Hitler;
...
This is the woman who revealed her authoritarian nature and contempt for the rule of law by supporting hubby’s jackbooted kidnapping of Elian Gonzalez. No wonder she had the gall to write:

The pretense that children's issues are somehow above or beyond politics endures and is reinforced by the belief that families are private, nonpolitical units whose interests subsume those of children.

The woman who argued that little children should be allowed to sue their parents rationalised an assault by a swat team on a defenceless American family, and all without due process.
...
It was [Clinton AG Janet] Reno, on Clinton’s instructions, who denied Elian due process. It was Clinton and Reno (and let’s not forget Castro) who mocked the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruling. It was Clinton’s appointee to the head of the INS, Doris Meissner, who instructed that a search warrant be fraudulently obtained.

Other highlights of the Clinton "Co-Presidency" include:

  • The sale of US Military Secrets to the Communist Chinese government for illegal campaign contributions.
  • Illegally obtaining hundreds of confidential FBI files for political witch hunts.
  • Bomb attacks on US Embassies and the World Trade Center.
  • The Enron and WorldCom scandals
  • Unilateral invasions of foreign countries to institute regime changes against governments that were no threat to the United States of America.
  • Fat Cat donors like George Soros buying and controlling the democrat party.

This is what Hillary Rodham Clinton "supporters" want to return to.

Iowa Predictions

By way of Rightwing Sparkle comes this:

Political Wire got an advance look at a new Strategic Vision poll in Iowa that shows Sen. Barack Obama leading the Democratic presidential race with 32% support, followed by John Edwards at 29% and Sen. Hillary Clinton at 27%.

I know that less than 10% of Iowa voters bother to caucus, and that poll shows Obama, Edwards and Mrs. Bill Clinton in pretty much a dead heat.

It would be cool to see Hillary Rodham Clinton get her "Inevitability" train derailed through by her coming in third, behind Obama and the Breck Boy.

Interesting enough, Obama, Edwards, Clinton is how Bob Nowak calls it, with Governor Richardson coming in fourth.

UPDATE: Hillary must be running scared about coming in third as well. Bryan at Hot Air notes that she is engaging in an "ass covering" exercise, or as he puts it "Embarrassment Prevention 101."
ABC News puts a more pro-HRC spin on it:
As the presidential candidates engage in furious pre-caucus spin, one of Sen. Hillary Clinton’s most prominent Iowa supporters said Wednesday that she’s already accomplished what she needs to in Iowa and can declare success even if she finishes in third place.

That is what we in the reality shared by rational adults call "bullshit." HRC has been claiming to the anointed front runner with her victories a matter of "inevitability." Getting beat by some one who was a state senator in a "flyover state" a few years ago and the Breck Boy is a major loss, no matter how much she and her political attack machine try to lie about it.

How did this make in the New York Times?

Perhaps they are getting desperate to turn their rapidly falling readership numbers around by actually printing the truth every once in a while instead of just what makes their editorial board happy.
Case in point, John Tierny on the Global Warming Alarmists:

Today’s interpreters of the weather are what social scientists call availability entrepreneurs: the activists, journalists and publicity-savvy scientists who selectively monitor the globe looking for newsworthy evidence of a new form of sinfulness, burning fossil fuels.

A year ago, British meteorologists made headlines predicting that the buildup of greenhouse gases would help make 2007 the hottest year on record. At year’s end, even though the British scientists reported the global temperature average was not a new record - it was actually lower than any year since 2001 - the BBC confidently proclaimed, “2007 Data Confirms Warming Trend.”

[...]

When the Arctic sea ice last year hit the lowest level ever recorded by satellites, it was big news and heralded as a sign that the whole planet was warming. When the Antarctic sea ice last year reached the highest level ever recorded by satellites, it was pretty much ignored. A large part of Antarctica has been cooling recently, but most coverage of that continent has focused on one small part that has warmed.
[...]

Roger A. Pielke Jr., a professor of environmental studies at the University of Colorado, recently noted the very different reception received last year by two conflicting papers on the link between hurricanes and global warming. He counted 79 news articles about a paper in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, and only 3 news articles about one in a far more prestigious journal, Nature.

Guess which paper jibed with the theory - and image of Katrina - presented by Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth”?

It was, of course, the paper in the more obscure journal, which suggested that global warming is creating more hurricanes. The paper in Nature concluded that global warming has a minimal effect on hurricanes. It was published in December - by coincidence, the same week that Mr. Gore received his Nobel Peace Prize.

So much for HRC's foreign policy "experience".

Bryan at Hot Air points out that she got just about every softball slow pitch question from former Clinton staffer George Swaythepoplus wrong.

So Hillary Clinton, smartest woman in the world and veteran of flying into the world’s dangerous hot spots alongside comedian Sinbad, got the Pakistani elections entirely, completely and utterly wrong in all respects.

Perhaps she should have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express on Saturday night.

What may be even more telling than how wrong Hillary got Pakistan is the fact that none of her Democrat rivals have called her out on it. She made her remarks in a high profile interview on the last Sunday morning before the Iowa caucus. It’s now Tuesday. Where are the Edwards and Obama camps to criticize her for getting everything on a vital story completely wrong? It’s reasonable to assume that none of the experts in either camp are even aware that Hillary is so disastrously wrong about the hottest foreign policy story of the moment.

Personally, I think that Senators Dowd and Biden picked up on her screw up, but the two democrats with the most experience are not even in double digits in Iowa and New Hampshire. That is a sad commentary on the democrat party.
