A chilling insight into the Obama supporter mindset

Newsbusters has been investigating why Google has been locking down anti-Obama blogs.
In particular, blogs put up by Pro-Hillary Clinton groups that do not support the so called "Lightbringer."

Here is a partial list of blogs shut down for not toeing the Obama party line:

  • Blue Lyon @ http://bluelyon.blogspot.com
  • Come A Long Way @ http://comealongway.blogspot.com
  • Hillary or Bust @ http://hillaryorbust.blogspot.com
  • McCain Democrats @ http://mccaindemocrats.blogspot.com
  • NObama Blog @ http://nobamablog.blogspot.com
  • politicallizard.blogspot.com @ http://thelizardannex.blogspot.com
  • Reflections in Tyme @ http://reflections-in-tyme.blogspot.com

Here is the latest update:
I have been hesitant to post this update because I cannot find a link to prove the claim, but it is starting to look like this Blogspot shut down of anti-Obama sites occurred because of a concerted effort by Obama supporters.

What they did was go to the Blogspot addresses found on the site of the NoObama coalition called Just Say No Deal and constantly hit the "mark as spam" link so that Google's Blogger would be flooded with spam warnings. This caused Google/Blogger to freeze the sites marked.

Apparently, this campaign merely took advantage of Google/Blogger's flawed system of finding spam blogs. So, it looks like what we have here is an Obama dirty trick to shut down political opposition. Looks like Obmatons aren't much for that whole democracy thing, eh?

Yup, this looks like another left wing direct attack on the First Amendment by the Obama supporters.
Odds are it is the far hard left extremist moron.org crowd, most of which are not bright enough to know they are owned and operated by George Soros.

It's also a chilling insight into what American would be like under an Obama Regime for anyone who dares to speak out against the Lightbringer.

Update: Even the New York Times has noticed.

Spreading leftist lies

Katrina vanden Heuvel, far left editor of the Nation keeps repeating the liberal mantra that "we are not any safer than we were 7 years ago" on former BJ Clinton staffer, George Swaythepopulus' show.

This is clearly false. Seven years ago Islamofascists where slamming airliners into the World Trade Centers. Since then, Islamofascists have been restricted to fighting the US military on battlefields on someone else's real estate.

Reality just isn't part of the far left liberal's mindset.

Sunday Morning Quotes

Five years ago we were told that increased refinery and oil pumping capability in the US would do no good because it would take five years for those to affect gas pump prices. Query: if we had greatly increased supply over the past five years, would not oil be at about $75/bbl, still high, but not headed to $200? And if we do nothing to increase supply now, where will oil go? … We are in a time of national emergency, but it does not affect the politicians, who continue business as usual.

Good News for America

The Supreme Court upheld the Second Amendment as an individual right, i.e. reserved for the people.

More at Alphecca, AoSHQ, View From the Porch and Instapundit.

The left has to lie...

As I've pointed out before, the anti-Civil Rights Victim Disarmament crowd have to lie. The truth just doesn't support their anti-Human Rights platform.

The latest example, by way of Mr. Reynolds, is NPR's own Nina Tottenberg.

Just heard her doing a bit on Heller in which she said that the Supreme Court has always construed the Second Amendment as a collective right. That's just plain false, and at this stage she should really know better.

Let us review the facts:
"... 'the people' seems to have been a term of art employed in select parts of the Constitution. The Preamble declares that the Constitution is ordained, and established by 'the people of the U.S.' The Second Amendment protects the right of the people to keep and bear Arms...." - Supreme Court of the U.S., U.S. v. Uerdugo-Uriquidez (1990).

"The states cannot, even laying the Constitutional provision out of view, prohibit the people from keeping and bearing arms so as to deprive the United States of their rightful resource for maintaining public security, and disable the people from performing their duty to general government." -- Supreme Court of the U.S., Presser v. Illinois (1886).

"The conclusion is thus inescapable that the history, concept, and wording of the Second amendment to the Constitution of the United States, as well as its interpretation by every major commentator and court in the first half-century after its ratification, indicates that what is protected is an individual right of a private citizen to own and carry firearms in a peaceful manner."
- Report of the Subcommittee on the Constitution of the Committee on the Judiciary, United States Senate, 97th Congress, Second Session ( February 1982 )

So we have at least two Supreme Court cases, one as recent as 1990, and a finding of the Senate Judiciary Committee, all stating that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right, reserved for the people. Ms. Tottenberg is supposed to be an expert on the subject, and really should know this kind of basic material. Keep in mind that NPR has a history of ignoring the facts when it comes to the basic Human Right of effective self defense.

Obama couldn’t pass a polygraph

What member the VRWC said that? None actually. It was beltway pundit Mark Shields on PBS. Mr. Shields was the "left wing" member of the panel, and had the follow to say about Barak H. Obama's breaking his promise to use public funding:

It was a flip-flop of epic proportions. It was one that he could not rationalize or justify. His video was unconvincing. He looked like someone who was being kept as a hostage somewhere he was so absolutely unconvincing in it. It could not have passed a polygraph test.

I mean, coming up with this bogus argument the Republicans have so much more money — the Republicans don’t have so much more money. He’s raised three times as much as John McCain has.

Mr. Shields followed up in his column:
Sounds good until you check the facts. McCain has raised a grand total of $650,000 from the lobbying industry (Obama pledges not to accept lobbyists’ or PAC money), according to the Center for Responsive Politics, and just 1 percent of his contributions are from PACs. Talk about a paper tiger.

But everybody remembers the most famous 527 group of all, the 2004 “Swift boats” attack ads questioning John Kerry’s bravery in Vietnam. Here are the numbers: The 527 spending has heavily favored Democrats over Republicans in every election cycle since 2000. In 2004, Democratic-leaning 527 groups spent $316 million to Republican-leaning 527s’ $113 million. So far in 2008, the 527 spending has been $116 million to $69 million in favor of the Democrats.

Obama complicated his current situation by publicly proposing in March 2007 an agreement between the two major party nominees to rely exclusively upon public financing for the general election. John McCain immediately agreed. Last November, Obama stated: “I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election,” and on Feb. 26, Obama told the late Tim Russert, who had asked him if he might “break your word” on his public financing pledge, “I will sit down with John McCain and make sure that we have a system that works for everybody.”

There is a valuable lesson here. If you are an Obama supporter, don't be surprised if you or principles you hold dear are tossed under the bus during the election cycle, or after it.

David Brooks figured it out:
But McCain wouldn’t have done this. When the chips are down and McCain faced the crucial issue of his career, which was backing the surge, he backed the surge thinking it would cost him the presidency. …

On a core issue of character, I do not believe McCain will bend. He’ll bend on all this other stuff he doesn’t care about, but Obama did bend on a core issue of his conscience.

Quote of the Day

"The poor have been voting democrat for 50 years and they’re still poor”

-- Charles Barkley

Another shining endorsement for Obama

Barak H. Obama, after gaining the coveted Triple Crown of Dictators endorsement, is back at work gaining the endorsement of domestic terrorists. Joining the bandwagon is former Weatherman Mike Klonsky.

If you want a good round up of liberal talking points

Take a look at this video of the ABC Sunday morning political show panel (which is hosted by a former Billy Jeff Clinton staffer) panel speaking "off the cuff" in the green room.

Follow the Money

As the man who wrote the screenplay said, "Follow the money."

In this case, let's follow the money behind James Hansen, a high priest in the Cult of Algore.

The money leads to the far hard left extremist George Soros. The man who funded most of the far left 527 attack ads in 2004.

Remember that James Hansen used to push the theory that the planet was experiencing "global cooling" and was warning that the planet was entering a new ice age.

Could it be that he found the money better on the other side of the fence?

It is interesting that a lot of lefties are whining that Hansen is being "swiftboated."
If you use the real definition of the word, which is:

Swiftboating - 1. (verb) - to use actual quotes and facts that are 100 % traceable to the party they are attributed to. 2. (noun) - the published record of an individual that is later used against them.

...well then, they may be right.

Debunking liberal myths.

Flopping Aces has several posts that shine the hard light of reality on some of the more common leftists liberal myths.

First is their non-reality based mantra "Bush lied".
The democrats in Congress held a hearing to "prove" it, and instead found the truth.

…Another investigation finds that the Bush Administration didn’t lie, fabricate, or deliberately mislead people about the threat posed from Saddam Hussein’s regime. STILL, the average Joe seems to believe that President Bush is an evil mastermind capable of fooling 535 members of Congress, all the national and international media, and successfully cover up a myriad of lies about “Saddam’s wmd” in almost a dozen independent, bi-partisan, often international investigations. Amazing.

The MSM news organizations that had to admit the leftist mantra was in fact, the lie, include the New York Times, the Washington Post and the LA Times.

Don't expect the far hard left liberals to stop chanting just because the facts are against them.

There are two posts that show that there were links between Saddam's government and Al Queda.
Captured members of Al Queda groups from this same camp claim that they were assisted, trained, supplied, and funded by Saddam’s IIS as well as taking orders from Saddam’s IIS.

Captured documents confirm their claims.

Captured regime members confirm their claims.

Now even highly anti-war/pro-Democrat MSNBC confirms the claim itself.

Al Queda leaders confirm the claims (Zawahiri and Zarqawi specifically).

Again, don't expect the liberals to give up this false "talking point" either.
The reality they perceive is not the shared reality of rational adults.

No surprise here.

Salon has an article on why hardcore Hillary Rodham Clinton supporters are not warming up to Barak Obama. There are two very telling lines in the article that sums up a lot of the problems many have with the left:

...the unpleasant position in which Hillary-supporting feminists find themselves -- members of a progressive party that doesn't seem particularly interested in their progress.
They are mad that everyone believes them to be old, white and racist. They are mad at the people they thought were supposed to be progressives for treating them badly.

Bingo! The far left democrats are not interested in progress. Just look at the Obama platform. It is a return to the failed late 1970s policies of the worst president in modern history, democrat Jimmy Carter.

It also serves as a stark reminder that there is nothing more closed minded an intolerant that an open mined and tolerant liberal.

The democrats regressive energy tax...

As it has been pointed out, democrats, including Barak Obama, want higher gas prices.

The $4+ gas price that is the result of democrat policies is a regressive tax that the democrats claim are the type of thing that Republicans are for.

The higher fuel costs are not going to keep eco-hypocrites like Al Gore and Laurie "CARBON SASQUATCH" David from flying in their private jets. Jets that pump multiple SUV years of carbon into the air each mile they fly.

The higher fuel costs are going to have a negative effect on the single mom who has to drive 30 miles a day for her two jobs in order to support her family. She can't drive any less, she can't afford to move, and she can't afford to purchase an expensive alternate fuel vehicle. She is going to have to take funds away from other items in her limited budget to order to cover the fuel costs that have doubled since Nancy Pelosi and the democrats have taken over Congress.

This is just another example of what the average American can expect if the democrats get control of the Executive branch as well.

MSNBC's Canoe Girl is back!

The Cassandra Page points out that Michelle Kosinski is back on the air. Michelle Kosinski, as you may remember, was the MSNBC reporter who got caught staging a false new report by reporting about New Jersey flooding in a canoe. The lie was exposed when two men walked between her and the camera, showing that the water was ankle deep.

Keep that level of "professional journalism" in mind when watching MSNBC.

Once a weasel...

...always a weasel. Thankfully former Senator Tom Daschle is on Fox News Sunday this morning and is spinning like a top.
He's avoiding questions and just keeps repeating the Obama campaign talking points (many of which are bold faced lies like the false "Third Bush Term" mantra they keep repeating about War Hero Senator McCain).

Apparently there is some buzz about about Obama picking that weasel Daschle as his Vice-President. That is just another example of what an inexperienced political lightweight he is.

I really feel Hillary Rodham Clinton's pain on loosing to that guy.

democrat fear mongering

The usual suspects are on Meet the Press today tossing around the term "Swiftboating."
Let us review what that term really means.

"...the definition of "swiftboating" is: "producing irrefutable evidence that a Democrat is lying."

Swiftboating - 1. (verb) - to use actual quotes and facts that are 100 % traceable to the party they are attributed to. 2. (noun) - the published record of an individual that is later used against them.

Keep in mind that the Swiftboat Vets for Truth have not had not to retract a single statement they made. Senator Kerry had to retract his story about going into Cambodia as not factual.

The Swiftboat Vets for truth have called for Senator Kerry to take them to court about their statements. The Senator has refused to do so. Probably because he doesn't want the facts brought out in a Court of Law, because those facts are against him.

The left has yet to answer this question about the Swiftboat Vets for Truth:
Can you identify even one specific and material SwiftVets allegation that you believe to have been fully "debunked" or fully proven to be "unsubstantiated"?

This sums up the problem with the DNC/MSM

Michael Yon writes in his book Moment of Truth in Iraq:

Some journalists sneered at my work. The most common criticism was that I lacked objectivity, because I called enemy fighters “terrorists” for murdering civilians, or I openly admitted that I hoped our side would win and Iraq would be free from dictatorship and terrorists.

Wouldn't it be nice...

I won't hold my breath for this list (courtesy of Talon):

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Charles Gibson on ABC World News Tonight report that “the U.S. military has succeeded in clearing 50 percent of improvised explosive devices in Iraq while simultaneously improving force protection”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Katie Couric on the CBS Evening News quote Maj. Marc Young, a Multi-National Force-Iraq spokesperson, saying that “With every operation Coalition Forces conduct we are further degrading and destroying the al-Qaeda in Iraq network”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Brian Williams on the NBC Nightly News report that the “South Baghdad economy is booming again”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi [democrat] hold a press conference after these reports and thank the President for his steadfastness in leading our country in the war on terror; or maybe she could just praise the troops for the tremendous progress in Iraq?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid [democrat] come out and say that although he really believed at the time that the war was lost, that he gratefully comes forward to say he was wrong and praise the great American military for a magnificent job?

Wouldn’t it be nice to see John Murtha [democrat] come out and apologize to the Haditha Marines for wrongly accusing them and asking for their and all Americans forgiveness?

They won't, since all those items those liberals will never utter, are all TRUE.
They don't fit the far hard left liberal world view though.

President Reagan got it right on Energy as well...

Besides being absolutely correct on how to win the Cold War, President Reagan nailed the energy issue as well.
From Ronald Reagan’s Acceptance Speech at the 1980 Republican Convention, July 17 1980:

America must get to work producing more energy. The Republican program for solving economic problems is based on growth and productivity.

Large amounts of oil and natural gas lay beneath our land and off our shores, untouched, because the present administration seems to believe the American people would rather see more regulation, more taxes and more controls than more energy.

Coal offers great potential. So does nuclear energy produced under rigorous safety standards. It could supply electricity for thousands of industries and millions of jobs and homes. It must not be thwarted by a tiny minority opposed to economic growth which often finds friendly ears in regulatory agencies for its obstructionist campaigns.

Make no mistake. We will not permit the safety of our people or our environment heritage to be jeopardized, but we are going to reaffirm that the economic prosperity of our people is a fundamental part of our environment.

Straight talk common sense from Senator McCain

Senator McCain has called for a rational step toward making America more energy independent by calling for the construction of 45 new Nuclear power plants.

This should also greatly please anyone who is firmly committed to the reduction of carbon emissions.

McCain said the 104 nuclear reactors currently operating around the country produce about 20 percent of the nation's annual electricity needs.

"Every year, these reactors alone spare the atmosphere from the equivalent of nearly all auto emissions in America."

Compare and Contrast...

President John F. Kennedy boldly announcing tax cuts to boost the economy...

Here is the "Money Quote:

“Every dollar that released from taxation, that is spent or invested, will create a new job and a new salary”

vs. the waffling Barak H. Obama...

Two things to take from this video.

1. Obama will tailor what he is saying to fit the circumstances. In other words, he lies.

2. Barak Obama was 100% wrong about the effect of the Surge in Iraq. He predicted failure, instead of the success US Troops have had.

It is really sad to see how far the democrat party has fallen since the days of President John F. Kennedy.

Barak Obama's accomplishments

Protein Wisdom has the round up, and it isn't pretty.

From June 1985 to May 1988, Obama was a community organizer with the Developing Communities Project in Chicago, working primarily to organize a housing project called Altgeld Gardens. According to the Boston Globe:

For all its impact on Obama, Altgeld Gardens today seems far from the kind of success story politicians like to tout.

Dozens of buildings are boarded up, with fences surrounding much of the property. The roads are a potholed mess. Blinking lights illuminate a series of towers where police have mounted cameras.

That’s change you can believe in. Moreover, Hazel Johnson, who has lived at Altgeld Gardens since 1962 – and was an organizer long before Obama appeared on the scene – claims Obama has exaggerated his role in getting asbestos removed from the projects. Otherwise, Obama did not get much done — and even had difficulty explaining what a “community organizer” did.
In his first race for the state Senate in 1996, Obama employed Chicago rules to invalidate the voting petition signatures of three of his challengers, thus running unopposed on the Democratic ticket in a heavily Democrat district:

“That was Chicago politics,” said John Kass, a veteran Chicago Tribune columnist. “Knock out your opposition, challenge their petitions, destroy your enemy, right? It is how Barack Obama destroyed his enemies back in 1996 that conflicts with his message today. He may have gotten his start registering thousands of voters. But in that first race, he made sure voters had just one choice.”

Though Obama served in the Illinois Senate for seven years, he built his entire legislative record in Illinois in a single year, when Illinois Senate Majority Leader Emil Jones appointed Obama sponsor of virtually every high-profile piece of legislation, angering many rank-and-file state legislators who had more seniority than Obama and had spent years championing the bills. During this period, he lost the 2000 Democratic primary run for the US House of Representatives to incumbent Bobby Rush by a margin of two to one.
Much of Obama’s lofty message of unity and hope really came from campaign consultant David Axelrod, who “long ago hatched the idea that Democrats’ campaigns should revolve more around personality than policy.” Indeed, much of the rhetoric was already test-driven in 2006 by one of Axelrod’s other clients, Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts. Not that such themes are in any way unique to American presidential politics, as demonstrated by Bill “The Man from Hope” Clinton and George W. “Uniter, not a Divider” Bush.
Again, there is not much to admire in either snake oil, tyranny or flowery speeches trying to sell either. Moreover, remove Obama from a TelePrompTer and he is every bit the gaffer as any other average politician, though few have had the audacity to base their foreign policy on a debate gaffe.

In sum, Barack Obama’s record, judgment and message are at best entirely undistinguished in the field of presidential politics. At worst, we have Axelrod’s campaign of personality attracting a cult of followers so creepy that even many Obama backers are put off by it, to a man who admits he is a “blank screen,” with a message that is either illusory or tyrannical. It is in those people that I find little to admire.

There is more. Go read the whole thing.

democrat Congressman admits they lied

It was painfully obvious that the democrats did some major Fear Mongering and lying to get control of Congress in 2006, and now here is one of them actually admitting it!
Pennsylvania Democrat Congressman Paul Kanjorski is one of the few honest democrats:

"I’ll tell you my impression. We really in this last election, when I say we … the Democrats … that if we won the Congressional elections we could stop the war. Now anybody was a good student of government would know that wasn’t true. But you know … the temptation to want to win back the Congress … we sort of stretched the facts, and the people ate it up."

Here is the video of the quote.

HT to Kevin Colby

McCain talks sense, Obama spouts leftist rhetoric

According to the Washington Post:

Sen. John McCain called yesterday for an end to the federal ban on offshore oil drilling, offering an aggressive response to high gasoline prices...

The move is aimed at easing voter anger over rising energy prices by freeing states to open vast stretches of the country's coastline to oil exploration. In a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, nearly 80 percent said soaring prices at the pump are causing them financial hardship, the highest in surveys this decade.

"We must embark on a national mission to eliminate our dependence on foreign oil," McCain told reporters yesterday. In a speech today, he plans to add that "we have untapped oil reserves of at least 21 billion barrels in the United States. But a broad federal moratorium stands in the way of energy exploration and production. . . . It is time for the federal government to lift these restrictions."

The US used to produce most of its oil need domestically, but the Carter era "windfall profit" taxes put an end to that. A failed government policy that the Second Coming of Jimmy Carter, i.e. Barak H. Obama, wants to repeat.

What Senator McCain is calling for is just common sense. The market price should start to drop once the feds decide that drilling for oil ten miles closer to shore than the Communist Chinese oil platforms (which are currently 60 miles off the coast of Florida) is OK.

Of course, the democrat response, made by Obama, is the typical Fear Mongering that they excel in. They spout the lie that McCain is "trying to drill our way out of the problem."

They know this isn't true, but will push that lie anyway. Drilling is only part of the solution. Proven, industrial scale, domestic energy solutions, such as Nuclear Power, is also needed. Increasing the use of clean, safe, Nuclear energy is something else that democrats oppose out of irrational fear.

The Washington Post article points out that Senator McCain does not share their irrational fear:
McCain backs federal subsidies for building more nuclear power plants, which he considers the best way to reduce U.S. carbon dioxide emissions.

Let's be honest here, if you buy into the Cult of Algore theory of Carbon Emissions causing widespread Global Warming", and you oppose Nuclear Power, you are either, woefully ignorant, in denial, or a hypocrite of the first order. Probably a combination of all three.

In addition to Nuclear, other alternate sources of energy should be explored, including biofuels (that doesn't use food as a source), solar, hydrogen, and others. What we don't need is the democrat head in the sand solution to our immediate problems. The democrat leadership may not care if their policies (or lack there of) have a serious negative effect on the US economy, but the rest of America should.

Bad News for OPEC

The Times of London has a story on a California based company that is working on bio-tech produced oil, that should be "carbon negative" to produce.

These slightly modified industrial yeast cells take in biomass, such as wheat straw or wood chips, and "excrete a substance that is almost pump-ready."

There are still issues on how this can scale up to industrial levels, but even a lot of small plants can produce fuel to allow a city to run its municipal vehicles (police cars, fire trucks, and other emergency vehicles) without worrying about the rising market price of foreign oil breaking their budget.

Just bringing a few of these plants online should cause the market price to respond in a downward manner. The start of construction of the plants would probably have that effect.

Update: The fact that uses modified yeast lead me to thinking about home brewing. If this process can be made as simple as brewing beer, then home brewing gas can't be far away. Say that you could brew 20 galleons of gas in your basement a month. That's a tank of gas. So, imagine if 20 or 30 million car owners bought one less tank of gas a week. Call it 25 million, 20 galleons a pop, so that's 500 million galleons of gas a month that isn't be imported or pumped from an area that environmentalists don't want oil drilling. At the current average pump price of $4.09 a galleon, that over $2 Billion that isn't going to "Big Oil" or Middle East dictators.

Monday, June 16, 2008

Just so you know who to thank...

...for the sky rocketing gas prices, remember that the spike took place when Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the democrats took over Congress.

It is very clear that democrats, Barak Obama included, want higher gas taxes.
They really don't care what effect that will have on the average American.

Democrats failed to pass the "cap and trade" legislation last week that would raise the price of gasoline by 56 cents per gallon. So this week they tried to pass a "windfall profit" tax on energy companies. The tax would of course be passed on to consumers, thus raising gasoline prices even more. Let us get honest: the Democrats want to price gasoline out of the reach of the average American.

So next time you fill up your tank, be sure to remember that price has doubled in the last 18 months thanks to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and the democrat majority in Congress!

If the Brady Anti-Civil Rights folks told the truth...

...they wouldn't have a case. The facts are against the anti-Civil/Human Rights Victim Disarmament crowd.

Alphecca has yet another example of this.
Even the BATF is calling them on fudging the numbers in order to lie to the American public.

Color me not surprised

WorldNetDaily reports (because the NY Times or the Boston Globe won't run this story):

Louisiana's top election official has launched an investigation into a voter registration drive by the Washington-based Voting is Power organization, which is sponsored by the Muslim American Society and was hired by Democrats, after registrars were "flooded" with fake forms, including a couple for a gentleman named George W. Bush.
According to a report from the Associated Press, the Washington-based VIP was hired by national Democrats to register up to 70,000 new voters before this fall's election.
"It has been a long-running joke amongst pundits that Election Day should be renamed 'Zombie Day' given all the dead people who seemingly rise from the graves and vote," concluded the FedPapers blog.

"Mind you, this is just one of many reasons why states are starting to get more stringent when it comes to voters needing identification before they can vote. Many people – the majority on the Left – have had a tizzy over the enforcement of such laws. Arizona was challenged when they enacted tougher laws regarding voter identification, but that was due to the illegal alien population here, and their tendency to vote when they are not legally allowed to do so," the blog continued.

Oh my...democrats involved in voter fraud. Oh right...most cases of voter fraud involve democrats, including the DNC/Gore Campaign sending out squads of hit lawyers in Florida with the sole goal of violating the Civil Rights of members of the US Military serving overseas by having their crystal clear ballots thrown out by tame liberal judges back in the 2000 election.
Remember kids, the vast majority of dead people vote democrat and the DNC wants to keep that way.

That's gonna leave a mark...

It's gonna be nasty in Denver when one of the elected delegates is now a McCain supporter.

As an avid supporter of Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries, Debra Bartoshevich is not alone in her frustration over Clinton's defeat.

She’s not alone in refusing to support Barack Obama.

And she’s not entirely alone in saying she’ll vote this fall for Republican John McCain instead.

But what makes her unusual is that she holds these views as an elected delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Denver this summer. . . .

I can think of no better reason to vote against Obama than the prospect of an administration where any criticism of the President is treated as racism.

A telling difference

TigerHawk points out a key difference between blue New Orleans and Red Iowa:

The flooding in eastern Iowa has reached the point of catastrophe.” But there’s a difference. “In Iowa there is a 500 year flood, but the people are not paralyzed, whining, or looting. There will be no massive relief effort from around the world, and nobody will step up to help Iowans except for other Iowans. Yet years from now, there will be no Iowans still in FEMA camps.

The Cassandra Page has a good list of differences
* No one is trapped in a convention center or other public building.

* Evacuations were not delayed by incompetent local officials.

* Instead of looting, the citizens are volunteering to provide sandbags and protect their homes and cities.

* We see no corrupt politicians on TV crying about invented stories.

* We don't see corrupt politicians trying to blame the President.

* We don't yet see MSM/DNC outlets coaching guests to be angry (give that one some time - the crisis is still young).

* We have not seen parking lots full of buses that could have been used to evacuate the victims.

* We don't hear cries of racism or conspiracy theories.

* We have not yet seen celebrities making a big show of doing nothing.

* We have not yet seen Senators making a big show of doing nothing.

* We have not yet seen reporters making a big show of doing nothing.

* We have not seen local officials more concerned with the racial make-up of their city than solving the problem.

Go read the whole thing.

Happy Birthday!

233 years ago today (That was 1775 for the math challenged), the US Army was created by an act of the Continental Congress. It was called the Continental Army, since the United States of America was not to be formed for almost another year.

Cool bit of geekness

I was watching Doctor Who on the SciFi channel and noticed that one of the characters has been at least two other Doctor Who episodes.

The first one was Inferno, from the 3rd Doctor era. He played the administrator of the drill site.

Second was from the 4th Doctor era, he played the theater owner in "The Talons of Weng Chiang."

The episode last night was with the 10th Doctor, where he played the husband of a British noblewoman in the 1920s.

A quick IMDB search shows that actor is Christopher Benjamin.

IBDB doesn't list his role in Inferno, but the Wikipedia entry for the episode has it.

Tim Russert died on the job.

The host of NBC's Meet the Press, and VP of NBC News, died today of a heart attack while on the job.

I can't think of any of MSNBC's major news talking heads who are fit to shine Mr. Russert's shoes, let alone fill them.

While he was former democrat political operative, he didn't let that get the way of putting democrats on the spot during his interviews.

Where the democrats stand

Obviously firmly on the side of higher gas prices.
Power Line has the details on their voting record:

ANWR Exploration
House Republicans: 91% Supported
House Democrats: 86% Opposed

House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 78% Opposed

Oil Shale Exploration
House Republicans: 90% Supported
House Democrats: 86% Opposed

Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Exploration
House Republicans: 81% Supported
House Democrats: 83% Opposed

Refinery Increased Capacity
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 96% Opposed

91% of House Republicans have historically voted to increase the production of American-made oil and gas.

86% of House Democrats have historically voted against increasing the production of American-made oil and gas.

HT to Ace

Let's review, the democrat voting record shows that they are against domestic production, they are for increased dependence on expensive foreign oil, higher gas and heating oil prices, and at least a Carter era inflation rate.

This picture is really worth a thousand words

Note the two pictures on the wall behind this Ohio judge.
Cult of Che meets the Cult of Obama.

Obama's bait and switch scam

Barak Obama is betting that his supporters can't do basic math or are actually are in favor of massive tax hikes.
The New England Republican points out that Obama is stealing a page from Bill Clinton's playbook, promising a tax cut to get elected. He also reminds us of what actually happened once Billy Jeff Clinton got in the White House.

...Bill Clinton’s middle class tax cut turned into the largest retroactive tax increase in our history. A quick look at Obama’s web site tells you the same has to happen here. For example, along with the tax cut, he promises:

* A national healthcare plan
* More drugs and coverage for seniors
* Funding for Zero to Five education
* A $4,000 tax credit for college kids
* More teacher pay
* And on and on it goes….

But the reality nobody wants to face is that we can’t do everything. You can run around yelling “Believe in change!” all you want, but as John Adams pointed out “facts are stubborn things.” Just ask Massachusetts residents about Deval Patrick’s property tax relief if you want to know what happens when a snake oil salesman tries to sell you “change”.

Quite simply, the stubborn fact is that Obama can’t deliver on all his promises and the tax cut will be jettisoned faster than you can say Trinity Church.

Barak Obama has promised to raise the Capital Gains tax, even though he knows that it will result in less revenue collected by the Feds. He wants to take the cap off the Social Security payroll tax, he wants to reinstate the Bill Clinton income tax increases, and the list goes on. Obama wants Change alright, you however, won't be left with change in your pockets.

The Pelosi Premium

Here is the simple truth, democrats want higher fuel prices and don't care that it drags the economy down, causes inflation and has a negative effect on the lives of average Americans. Even Obama has come out and said it. If you want a return to the double digit inflation and unemployment of the Carter administration, just vote democrat.

One of my favorite books

Doug Berry reviews one of my favorite books, H. Beam Piper's Space Viking.

Welcome back Carter

The Confederate Yankee nails the bad news express that an Obama administration would be:

While the media would like to help along the meme that McCain's financial plan of low taxes and lowered government spending is a continuation of Bush's economy, that is fiction. McCain's policies are in line with Ronald Reagan's successful conservative economic plans; of the two Presidential candidates, it is Obama's plan that is more like those practiced by Bush.

The bloated government and increased spending seen under the Bush Administration is horrific from a fiscally conservative standpoint, and a prequel to what would occur if the ultra-liberal Obama campaign lives up to its promises, creating more than $87 billion in new government and entitlements. Obama will need to substantially raise taxes to fulfill even some of his campaign promises.

Think Bush is bad? Obama will be worse, pulling for "higher income taxes, Social Security taxes, capital gains taxes, dividend taxes," and taxes on job-creating small businesses straight out of the "dazed and malaised" days of James Earl Carter's failed one-term Presidency. I'm sure I am not alone in hearing from parents concerned that an Obama presidency will ruin the economy for their children.

There is more, go read it.

The democrats track records

Let's look at what the congressional democrats promised to due when they gained power in 2006 and what they have accomplished. Floppy Aces has the tally:

[democrats] promised that if elected to power they’d:
-end the war in Iraq
-lower gasoline prices
-make the world love us
-end the partisanship in DC

Let's see, they have completely dropped the ball on ending the war in Iraq. In fact they gone out their way to hide the fact that the surge McCain supported has worked, and that the Iraqi military is successfully doing more and more in fighting Islamofascists.

Gas prices have gone up about $2 a galleon since the democrats took over congress.
It only went up $0.66 during the first six years of the Bush 43 administration and the Republican controlled congress. So it looks like they screwed that pooch too.

Make the world love us? Well, dictators around the world are happy over the fact that liberal democrat may take control of the White House.

As for ending the partisanship in D.C., that has been an utter failure as well. The democrats have raised divisive partisanship to new levels.

There is a reason that Congress has a much lower approval rating than the President, yet the democrats want to repeat the mistakes of the worst President in modern history, Jimmy Carter.

What is Obama hiding?

Rumors Swirl Around Obama Campaign’s Refusal To Release Candidate’s Birth Certificate.

More details at Hot Air.

Remember how the democrats were so up in arms over the non-issue of McCain being born in the Panama Canal Zone and his wife's tax returns. This is another case of the lefts extreme hypocrisy rearing its head.

They didn't get upset when Billy Jeff Clinton refused to release his medical records and had the official White House physician (a Naval officer) removed from the White House grounds and replaced by one of his cronies from Arkansas who kept BJ's secrets.

If this really isn't an issue, then Obama should just release the document to the press, and not just to a couple of in the tank "journalists" who will do what they want (like John Kerry did with his military records).

Update: By way of AoSHQ, the document the Kos Kiddies put up as proof of Obama's American birth doesn't look quite kosher.

Personally, I find the fact that only place to publish any sort of birth certificate document is that far left wing snake pit that Kos runs not a good sign.

Facts about Barak Obama that bear repeating

By way of the Heartless Libertarian is a subset of a list from Dave Hardy at Of Arms & the Law about democrat Barak Obama's anti-Civil Rights agenda:

FACT: Barack Obama voted to allow reckless lawsuits designed to bankrupt
the firearms industry.

FACT: Barack Obama wants to re-impose the failed and discredited Clinton Gun Ban.

FACT: Barack Obama voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.

FACT: Barack Obama has endorsed a complete ban on handgun ownership.

FACT: Barack Obama supports local gun bans in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and other cities.

FACT: Barack Obama voted to uphold local gun bans and the criminal prosecution of people who use firearms in self-defense.
FACT: Barack Obama refused to sign a friend-of-the-court brief in support of individual Second Amendment rights in the Heller case.

FACT: Barack Obama wants to eliminate your Right to Carry.

FACT: Barack Obama was a member of the Board of Directors of the Joyce Foundation, the leading source of funds for anti-gun organizations and "research."
FACT: Barack Obama favors a ban on standard capacity magazines.
FACT: Barack Obama supports repeal of the Tiahrt Amendment, which prohibits information on gun traces collected by the BATFE from being used in reckless lawsuits against firearm dealers and manufacturers.

FACT: Barack Obama supports "one-gun-a-month" sales restrictions.

FACT: Barack Obama supports a ban on inexpensive handguns.

FACT: Barack Obama supports a ban on the resale of police issued firearms, even if the money is going to police departments for replacement equipment.

Remember kids, when only the government has firearms, that government is a "Police State."

The Right to Effective Self Defense is a Basic Human Right.

Just ask the Pink Pistols about how they fell about the Right to Effective Self Defense and other Civil Rights.

Barak Obama's Fear Mongering

The really sad part is that enough liberal idiots out there buy into bad junk science and will believe the shit he is shoveling them.

By way of Flopping Aces is this ugly bit of fear mongering by the democrat party candidate for President of the United States of America:

We can’t afford more of the same timid politics when the future of our planet is at stake. We are already breaking records with the intensity of our storms, the number of forest fires, and the periods of drought. By 2050, famine could force more than 250 million from their homes. And if we do nothing, sea levels will rise high enough to swallow large portions of every coastal city and town.

Dude, try 2-6 inches a Century! To "swallow large portions of every coastal city and town", it would require a sea level increase of a dozen or two feet in decades.

This also ignores the historic record of global warming periods being periods of growth and expansion, mostly due to more land mass being available for the growth of food. It's the periods of global cooling that typically result in wide spread famine.

But then the left has never let a "big lie" stand in the way of their raw naked lust for power.

Mean while, in France

The French military is literally falling apart. Remember kids, France is the model oh so many far left liberals thinks the US should follow.

According to confidential defence documents leaked to the French press, less than half of France's Leclerc tanks – 142 out of 346 – are operational and even these regularly break down.

Less than half of its Puma helicopters, 37 per cent of its Lynx choppers and 33 per cent of its Super Frelon models – built 40 years ago – are in a fit state to fly, according to documents seen by Le Parisien newspaper.

Two thirds of France's Mirage F1 reconnaissance jets are unusable at present.

A tax break the democrats support

It's for trial lawyers, a protected class under democrat rule. The rest of you can go screw and pony up more money for big government to waste.

Unless you are a liberal, then you can try the "I forgot" method of not paying your taxes.

A couple of quotes.

There are gems in blog comments:

The Czeck republic has experienced 600% economic growth since they dumped communism, went to a flat tax, illiminated regulation and adopted small government… AND they have a much cleaner environment than the did under communism.

That should tell the libs somthing.

Socialism = pollution.

Victor David Hanson
How odd (or to be expected) that suddenly intelligence agencies, analysts, journalists, and terrorists themselves are attesting that al-Qaeda is in near ruins, that ideologically radical Islam is losing its appeal, and that terrorist incidents against Americans at home and abroad outside the war zones are at an all-time low—and yet few associate the radical change in fortune in Iraq as a contributory cause to our success.

Connecticut emulates Chicago

Chicago, long under democrat domination, is known as the place where the dead vote early and often.

According to this story, Connecticut is trying to emulate the corruption at the Windy City.

Journalism professor Marcel Dufresne, at the University of Connecticut, led a class investigation into dead voters and said his group of 11 students discovered 8,558 deceased people who were still registered on Connecticut’s voter rolls. They discovered more than 300 of them appeared somehow to have cast ballots after they died.

“We have one person who appeared to have voted 17 times since he died,” Dufresne said.

Dufresne said there is no evidence of any election fraud, but the number of dead voters “shows the system is vulnerable and it shows that people who are clever and have a little cooperation in the town level, you could use this and get people to vote for people who died.”

Actually, the fact that live people are voting using the names of dead people who are still on the registered voter polls is a clear indication of election fraud, as well as a clear violation of the civil rights of every legally registered live voter.

Of course, the state government is is full spin (i.e lying) mode:
Connecticut Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz is adamant that “actually no dead people voted.”

“I want to be very clear about that,” she said, explaining that while votes were cast and counted in the names of the dead, “there was no voter fraud at all in the state of Connecticut.”

It is hardly surprising that Secretary Bysiewicz is a democrat. Obviously, the actual dead people didn't vote. Obviously live people illegally used the still active records of the dead people to commit voter fraud.
Why is democrat Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz obviously lying? Probably because most of the live people committing voter fraud using the records of dead people are voting democrat.

Most Americans pass basic reading comprehension test

By way of Alphecca, this poll that shows that most Americans correctly recognize the Second Amendment as an individual Right of Americans.

By 41 percent to 17 percent, a two to one plurality believes that the Second Amendment supports an individual’s right to bear arms. Interestingly, almost three in ten (29%) feel the Amendment supports both and 5 percent say neither;

The unasked question...

The question I haven't seen in the MSM yet is "What is Hillary getting for stepping down nicely?" She was ready to take to the convention floor (and I'm still not convinced that she isn't going to), and then she makes this nice "party unity behind Obama" speech.

Why? What was in it for her? What was promised to her at the secret meeting that got the press so miffed.?

HRC is a very practical person. She has a lot of delegates and a lot of supporters. She wasn't about to give up that level of power for nothing.

Something to keep in mind...

Fred Kagan nails it:

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

The two men brought different backgrounds to the test, of course. In January 2007, McCain had been a senator for 10 years and had served in the military for 23 years. Obama had been a senator for 2 years and before that was a state legislator, lawyer, and community organizer. But neither presidential candidates nor the commander in chief gets to choose the tests that history brings. Once in office, the one elected must perform.

HT to Mr. Reynolds.

That is pretty much spot on...

Mr Reynolds nails the international arms market:

Russian stuff's cheap, and it works fine as long as you're only fighting other third-world countries with Russian weapons. . . .

Good News

First, things are going so well in Iraq, even the Washington Post has to admit it.

THERE'S BEEN a relative lull in news coverage and debate about Iraq in recent weeks -- which is odd, because May could turn out to have been one of the most important months of the war. While Washington's attention has been fixed elsewhere, military analysts have watched with astonishment as the Iraqi government and army have gained control for the first time of the port city of Basra and the sprawling Baghdad neighborhood of Sadr City, routing the Shiite militias that have ruled them for years and sending key militants scurrying to Iran. At the same time, Iraqi and U.S. forces have pushed forward with a long-promised offensive in Mosul, the last urban refuge of al-Qaeda.

Second, very good news from Afghanistan:
AFGHAN authorities said more than 100 Taliban-linked militants have been killed in an operation to retake a remote district from the rebels in south-western Afghanistan

The rebels were killed during two days of operations by Afghan security forces and their international allies in Bakwa, a remote district in the south-western province of Farah, the interior ministry said.

"During two days of operations more than 100 enemies of peace and stability were killed,'' ministry spokesman Zemarai Bashary said.

HT to Ace for the Afghanistan story.

AP spreading lies instead of news

This AP story spread liberal "group think" instead of known facts.

McClellan was ordered to say that White House aides Karl Rove and I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby were not involved in leaking Plame's identity. Later, a criminal investigation revealed that they were.

As Mr. Reynolds correct points, it out was Richard Armitage who did that.

But then, the left has never let the truth get in the way of their message.

Color me not surprised

According to a Rasmussen poll: McCain Trusted More Than Obama on Economy, Iraq, National Security.

I'm certainly no fan of HRC, but even I have to admit that she is a better general election candidate than the uber-far hard left liberal Barak Obama.
