One is that his wife and daughter have been on his campaign reelection payroll for several years.
We've already addressed this, and it seems his biggest crime is that he doesn't pay his relatives as much as democrats do.
Another is that he has gone on trips paid for by lobbyist firms.
Hmmm...let us look at some investigative reporting that Charles Hurt of the Washington Times has done.
Stephanie Tubbs Jones, an Ohio Democrat who sits on the House ethics committee, took a 2001 trip to Puerto Rico that was paid for by a registered lobbyist firm — an apparent violation of the chamber's ethics rules — according to documents that she filed with the House clerk.
Interesting...where did Congresswoman Jones and her husband go? Just on a little "fact finding" junket to the Puerto Rican island of Vieques in the Caribbean.
Now, in her defense, Congresswoman Jones' spokeswoman says that isn't true. One of her "staffers" made an error in the paperwork.
Of course, the democrat from Ohio refuses to provide any evidence to support her claim and "refused to have either the lobbying firm or the group she says actually paid for the trip provide any documentation to prove her claim."
No wonder congressional democrats are blocking the House Ethics Committee from meeting.
It has nothing to do with the "principles" they claim to hold. It's all about keeping the truth from coming out.
