Trying To Vote Republican In South Central Los Angeles

Unfortunately, the stereotype did have some basis in reality.

During my brief move to North Carolina I had to obtain a new driver's licence, part of this process included voter registration.

The kindly African-American gentleman at the N.C. licence bureau was apparently happy to register a new voter from the Soviet Socialist Republic of Minnesota. At least until he asked about my party affiliation.

"Libertarian," I said.

The bastard suddenly went cold and bureaucratic right at that moment.
